Where is my game darn manual?
I am, as many if not all here are, a huge fan of BG1, and so I bought this game without even thinking 2x.
For my utmost disappointment this game is incredibly full of bugs. Graphic issues all the time, random items disappear, moving the party is a nightmare (they randomly stop moving sometimes), unclickable places if they are too far from your selected character..... and now I went to look for my manual and it doesn't exist...................
I had the original one from 1998 and it even came with a MAP in the box!!!!!!!
C'mon developers, you are already taking 20 bucks from us for a RE-Release of a game without any major improvement (I was also disappointed with the graphics that look blurry and low quality).
I really thought they would have brushen up the characters and made them less.... polygonal, but it seems that all they did was to create a layer over the old game so it could run on a newer OS.
Shame on you Developer.

If you hate it so much, and are so upset about it, and it's so buggy, why are you playing it right now? And why, for that matter, if you were such a fan of it back in the day, would you need a manual to come with this game?

Just because your post made me curious and I had a minute to kill, I checked. The store page has the manual on it. Before you start whining about something, you might want to make sure that your cry-fest is valid.

Drop the fighting - whats with the bugs he was talking about ? Did anyone else
experience them ?
I was think about buying it right now, cause I LOVE BG...but randome items disappear ?
like WTF really ? THAT is something...nononono I could not live with ^^

Mr. Hanky, I found the manual on the Store page.. I didn't expect it to be there as I was checking on the Game Hub and it wasn't there or in my installed game folder, hence, I assumed it didn't exist.
Now, what does me being a huge fan to do with my memory remembering perfectly everything about the game I played 15 years ago? If you have a photografic memory or anything of the such, good for you, but don't assume others might, specially if you want such tone. The game is full of bugs for me, graphic glitches all the time such as images leaving traces of it behind, missing markers under the characters and enemies, not being able to click on extended area accessible from zooming out, and selling stacked items for the price of 1.
All I saw so far was a slight improvement of the UI, which was completely necessary given that with nowadays resolution you have a lot more area to use.
Its obvious from my post that I am completely disappointed with what I've seen so far, and I was venting out on the outrageous possibility that there wasn't even a manual to come with the game that use to come EVEN with a map.
I don't appreciate people like you, so in the future please feel free to ignore my posts and let me be free of trollers like you.

PS: Thank you for pointing out where the manual was.

look at my play time. close to 90 hours... i have experienced almost zero bugs. and the couple bugs i have run across were easily fixed.

Hi there!
Bought the game and I've been playing now for 39 hours. I did not encounter any bug. The game runs smoothly and is still just as good as I remember playing it many years ago. I did not need the manual so far and I go where my instinct and vague memories of the game takes. So far so good : )

Well, I don't have the weather (rain), I don't have fog of war, I don't have the markers, everytime I go inside a location it keeps having all sorts of glitches around the map, so I do actually have a ton of graphic issues.. I also have some sound issues, minor most of the time, sometimes the characters voice doesn't come up when they are talking to me (telling me their story).

How did you fix your bugs?

Perhaps it's not the game but instead the system your running it on. What solutions have you tried? Have you done a clean install? Maybe something went awry when you initially installed it. I'm with the other group, 49 hours and bug free for me.

So I went around my video card settings and I was able to fix most of the graphic issues by trial and error.
To fix the fog of war, markers, weather just set the Antialising - Mode to Override any application setting.
If you start seeing your text blurred, try Antialiasing - Transparency to OFF.

Hope this helps any others out there who might be having the same issues!

i only had two bugs, one was the steam underlay flickered behind the game screen in a pretty annoying way, and i fixed that by going into settings/graphics and unclicking "hardware mouse curser"

the other bug i had was sometimes i wouldn't get the wheel icon when i came to the edge of a map, but ever since the patch that seems to be fixed for me...

as another post above me suggested, it may actually be something with your computer itself. dunno i'm far from an expert. but i wish you luck

If you have that many bugs, then that honestly sucks. I personally had no real bugs on my 40 hour playthrough, so maybe I just lucked out. If you're having problems, then you have every right to complain. I was just blown away that as I was reading your post (about a lack of manual) and reading about your outrage that you were playing BGEE at that exact moment. My tone was rather hostile, though, so I apologize for that.
