Baldur's Gate 2
Does anybody know if they plan to do this same thing with BG2 and Shadows of Amn? Kind of waiting to play to see so I can play them through again from steam.

Great, thanks! Hopefully it won't be as buggy and weird as this one =.= Because like Kris said, BG and BG2 were the original western rpgs I played and got me into them.

from what I read 2 comes out sometime in the summer. I also have read rumor that if this goes well they plan on making 3? any confirmation? or am I just full of it?

BG3 was intended way back when, and was eventually named Neverwinter Nights (NWN)

Yes Mr. Hanky the company that created this is going to make an original Baldurs Gate 3 assuming the enhanced versions of 1 and 2 sell enough. So I suggest any fans of the series get off your soap boxes and put their money where their mouth is. You want companies to support great games, and make more great games? Buy the great games without complaint. You want random ♥♥♥♥ produced every 6 months, ♥♥♥♥♥ about 20 bucks when they polish an old gem.

Actually - the company that made this has no rights to create new content - only to modify existing... at least as far as I know. (This is why they only added minimal things and didn't redo textures).

To my understanding they have clearly stated that they will only try to change the legalities IF they sell well enough - that doesn't mean that they WILL change them (the legalities) it only means there is a chance.

it seems the fans of this are starting to raise their voices and drown out the ignorants who don't undestand either the concept of supply and demand; or the concept of time = money.

BG2:EE - This time you get 4 new bland characters and new remastered sound track by Justin Beiber! "Baby!" that's Ludacris! Only $39.99 just cause!

I don't know what their plan is, but they plainly stated it depended on how well their remakes did, so the logic of get off your ♥♥♥ still stands.

This is blatant BS. Neverwinter Nights was in development by the time the first BG was published and was never intended to be anything other than a spiritual successor the AOL Neverwinter Nights. There was a BG3 in development under the subtitle The Black Hound, but it was scrapped at the same time Fallout Van Buren was. BG2 Throne of Bhaal was the end of the Bhaalspawn saga and BG3 would have started you out with a new PC.

I really don't want to think of Overhaul making a BG3 with 4e rules. *shivers*

as a D&D fan there are almost unlimited ideas they could use to make a new series... they don't have to call it Baldur's Gate... hell make it take place in Calimshan, or the Moonshaes, or Kara-Tur, or the Dales, or etc, etc, etc...

just put it on the infinity engine, make combat the same, write a killer story, and make good characters, and people would eat it up.
