fully custom party

HI guy,
can i start with a fully custom party or only one guy.
I read about The Black Pits mode but that are only 15 rooms. (need the full story)

You can use your own party, you have to create a multiplayer game to do it though. (which can be locked out using a password) I am not sure how the story plays out without using some key NPC's on your team, but you can.

I wish they would enhance and re-release the Icewind Dale games to be honest. You always created your own party in IWD.

ich will try it. if it does not work without key NPC´s i can still play it the normal way.

The best thing to do is start a game with maybe three custom characters, the only "key" character would be the girl you start out with once you leave town. (It's been ages since I played this, I don't remember her name)

Edit: Playing it again, Imoen was her name.

Also, he may not be key to the story, but the mentally handicapped ranger with the space hamster "Boo" is a must have NPC.

Edit: Minsc was his name. Thanks Hazz, I could not remember that one either.

you're right "Boo" is a must have.

Minsc is a must have, his Minature Giant Space Hamster named Boo is forced to come with you.

Daemoc, I agree, I always enjoyed being able to start IWD with a well balanced group. But I suppose the story called for the approach. I hope to see IWD I and II re-released as well.

Is there a save editor or something you can use to change the class and specializations of NPCs you have in your party? I really like a lot of the charachters but I'd like to make them something that actually makes sense. Imoen = mage, Jahera = pure druid, etc.
