Read a review and decide for yourself.

Most reviews say that this is not a very good edition, you're better off using the original plus mods. The basic game is still classic - but consider Legends of Grimrock if you'd prefer a puzzle RPG with modern graphics. It's too bad they didn't do better remaking this, a lot of people buy it sight unseen I think.

I have this from beamdog not steam, and I love it.
However there are a few things to consider:
1 It does not work on computers with intel chipsets (yet)
2 some people think its better to get the older version on GOG and use mods (I don't agree with this)
3 This game is a bit underwhelming compared to baldurs gate 2, and the other infinity engine games.

I still think for any rpg fan this is worth getting.

@Marky,
What do you mean by Intel chipset? As in Intel processor like Core i7? Or those Intel onboard graphics. Thanks man

I wouldnt mind getting it but it seems to be plagued with technical issues

I would recommend the oirinal with waidu and baldurdash mods over this. Enhanced Edition has those gaudy remade cutscenes that looks like cheap flash animation, the originals looked way better. There are also tons of technical problems (more than I remember there being in the original, ironically enough) and a lot of the dialogue for the new characters really feels out of place. It seems criminal to me that beamdog is charging $20 for this when it's inferior to the original.

I guess he means Intel chipset on MAC's ?
NunsWithGunsOP 24. März 2013 um 13:09 Uhr
you mean intel graphic chipsets like the 4000 HD and 3000 HD? Makes sense. Horrible driver support on those.

It says on the requirements:

System Requirements
Minimum:

OS:Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8
Processor:1 GHZ
Memory:512 MB RAM
Graphics:OpenGL 2.0 compatible (Intel graphics chipsets are NOT supported)
Hard Drive:2 GB HD space
Sound:Windows Compatible

i'm not quite sure what that means. I think its something about intel not supporting opengl, but i've heard about people not being able to run the game on some intel computers.
the guys making the game have said that they're working on a solution to this.

I actually like the new cutscenes, except of course for the introductory cutscene which is terrible.
Also I've only experience one bug so far.

The Intel chipset thing has been resolved, no worries. I can play it just fine.

@Flashburn
Thats awesome.

Oh, and make sure you play with the Steam overlay turned off. There's a bug specific to the Steam version that screws up your interface when you have it turned on, or something like that. Dunno because I have the Beamdog version.
