First Quest Bug on 2014 Version !

I can't make the first quest in the first town in the bar for the identification scroll ! The Red Mage don't give me the scroll.I try to restart a new game 2 times and got the same problem ! Just let me know guys if you got the same problem !

Yes its a well known bug in the latest patch.

You can pickpocket the scroll. Got it on first attempt with 25 pickpocketing skill.

As compensation, I'll let you all in on a secret. If you talk to Firebrand Elvenhair EXACTLY 30 times, then wait about 10 seconds, he'll give you 300 gold.

It's nice for getting armor, some spare weapons (Damn that breakage), and a ranged weapon.
