Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Wont Start.

My steam says I am in a game for a split secound and nothing happens, I have read every other hint on how to fix it and my computer runs on windows 8. I have tried finding the redist document and running oalinst in admin but it says there is no such thing, can someone help me?

I had a similar problem with windows 8. I discovered that when I went to the app directly and tried to run as admin, it said i was missing the openAL32.dll file. I downloaded a copy of that file and placed it in my system folder, and the game works fine now.
