The Evil team
I have been playing a game as good, doing very well in it,

Really want to try the game as evil, never done it before but I want to try and use some evil characters but need some advice, below are some thoughts let me know what you thin

Palidin Black guard, Cleric priest of talos are all evil, mage (necromancer or transmutter) arent really evil but seem more evil sorcerous might be a good alternative

My current game is a theif as main guy, barbarian, fighter/cleric, palidin, ranger, theif and conjourer

Id liketeam that could all heal and protect but at the same time id love a pure figher grand master and a barbarian that would just plow through the game and deal with the guards when we break laws

Best evil party I've found has been making myself a half orc fighter and having Dorn, shar-teel, montaron, viconia and Baeloth I think this team is more effetive than the classic good guy team (Kahlid, Jahiera, Minsc, Dynahier)

You will cover most of the bases of a well-balanced evil party by picking up Dorn (Paladin:Blackguard), Viconia (Cleric), Xzar (Mage:Necromancer) and Montaron (Fighter/Thief) who are all available pretty early. So you can easily choose whatever class you want for yourself and still be quite effective.

For the last slot of your party you could pick Edwin or Kagain, depending if you want more blasting or more bashing.

EDIT: Also be careful with your reputation, since when it gets below 6 there is a chance of Flaming Fist Mercenaries appearing to annoy you and also when you go below 3 shopkeepers will refuse to sell stuff to you. But it is reasonable easy to keep your reputation within acceptable limits with quests and donations to temples. (Also if you go above 18 reputation evil companions will leave you, in which case you can punch some people and steal some stuff to lower it again.)

Be sure to get the necromancer killed so you can replace him with Edwin or Baeloth, but yeah may as well keep Montaron around as he makes a decent thief.

My main is a Shadowdancer and my party is Kagain (fighter), Dorn (blackguard), Viconia (cleric), Edwin (conjurer), and (when I get him) Baeloth.

Will your Shadow Dancer be able to BE a thief? They have so few skill points... you might consider picking up a temporary thief to cover whatever you can't do yet.

My next run through is definitely going to be evil party.
Dorn is a beast and Edwin is the best mage in the game, whilst Kagain is a top fighter and Montaron is great fun. Good shout on Viconia for cleric duties, though I might make an evil cleric for that role making room to keep Xzar or pick up Baeloth who is a great sorceror.

Will still pick up Neena just for her bag and then cut her loose.

I'm honestly not sure, it's my first playthrough of the game, but I don't seem to be having any issues yet...I wanted to either choose a thief specialty package or a multi-class thief...either way seems like I would receive less skill points than a straight up theif either by not leveling as fast or just not being awarding as many points.

Swashbuckler doesn't hurt much for skill points iirc and they're an excellent combat class.

how could anyone play evil without Xxar? he s the funiest guy of the game
there s always room for him, even if he sucks

go for

Xxar
Viconia
Montaron
Shar teel
Edwin or Baeloth(sick he is)
yourself(assassin is the best, barbarian is easier)

this is not maxed out, as a matter of fact, it s hard
but, you ll laugh, these guys are the real psychos and you will be forced to be creative, hide, sneak ambush
Xxars sucky spells will make you play a different way(effective though if you use his spells with some wits)
you as an assassin will have loads of fun with your buddy montaron(2 sneak attacks do a lot of damage)
whenever you see a mage your rogues did not bring down, charge with viconia, she loves spells more than casters love her resistance

Make sure your Reputation doesn't hit 2 or lower. Merchants will refuse to sell to you. However, a Reputation of 3 - 6 will keep all evil NPCs happy in your party.

Thanks for the advice

technically, merchants still trade, they buy your stuff the usal price, but they sell theirs at about 10 times the normal price
