Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes

Vezi statistici:
Manablast overpowered?
I have a felling that getting Manablast is gamebreaking.
Fow those who don't know waht it is:
Manablast is a missile spell that does damage equal to a tenth of your mana pool, half of that if resisted. It cost 30 mana with no special skills. It has 1 turn prep time.

I think you can only get it by a certain quest where you find a book that teaches you the spell.
All your champions get the spell as well.

I had my sovereign and 5 champions. Everyone could cast manablast. In that game, my mana pool was always around 7000-10000. Meaning that i had 6 units able to cast 700-1000 damge missile spells.

I one hitted EVERYTHING. Even when they resisted the spell!
I felt awesome but became old really fast.

I've never had more than 600 mana. WOW 7k!
My whole kingdom was made to provide mana, cause i was playing a mage sovereign.
I had like +80 mana per season. And then i dug in and waited till i had ammo(mana) because my military was dependent on it. (Auto-Resolver also uses Mana in case you didn't know, the AI uses your spells!) Then i learned manablast by pure chance.
Fair enough. My mage soverign game never got far as I won too quick. So never seen those kind of numbers. He was a summoner anyway, So didn't need too big a pool.
Well, i delayed victory on purpose. Just steamrolling everyone with manablast felt wrong so I just kept telling everyone to ♥♥♥♥ off. And they did. No one wanted to declare war on me. When i had 50 turns left, I jsut send out 2 armies with 3 heroes each supported my companies of heavy knights.

Against 3 other Kingdoms i won within 40 turns.
Things can get lopsided a variety of ways, not just by that a spell. For example, I generally don't mess with magic at all in my games and instead outfit my guys with the best hammers and run around 1-shotting armies with that crush ability. /shrug
Well, then i guess beta is beta. This game needs some hard balancing. Still fun though.
Hero progression is just so slow. Most of the time i get to many champions that i don't where to put them. I get champions faster than i can recruit armies for them to lead, if i want to expand my cities at all. I think building and training should be seperate queues? Though i don't know how that would work with production costs.
1 shotted master quest boss with manablast.. very OP especially to mages with reduced casting time.
Well think on this though, there's a buff spell called Mana Shield which deflects any damage the unit takes into your mana pool. Kinda difficult for any enemy to win against units which are invulnerable.

These two spells are very powerful, even OP, but it seems they are meant to be end game spells, and a dump for those who have hoarded mana. I think they likely need to be tied to a much harder quest than currently, but should otherwise remain unchanged.
i think manablast should be way more expensive to cast, like a last resort spell. and mana shield? i mean that thing is basically invincebility. they are ridiculously easy to use. And as i said i got manablast super early. like 25 turns into the game.
Last night, I blasted Waerloga the Dragonlord for 1671 damage on my first move. So much for the master quest, lol
