Doom voxel project
So it kind of sucks with mouselook when you can look over the sprites, this fixes that.
Its not finished and only some items are done so far, but it's cool none the less.

It only works in zdoom and gzdoom right now but the zandronum devs have acknowledged the community want fro voxels.

Well, for the people that want fully 3d doom, Doomsday Engine with the Texture & 3d models makes it fully 3d.

(Note, the video uses a old version of the model & texture pack, its more improved now)

The Voxel pack is mostly for those that want "improved" classic experience and not a total texture/model overhaul

I tried Doomsday but I really don't like the new 3D models, they are too smooth, the 3D characters look awfull IMO, and not very much like they should look.

I prefer the pixelated look of the original ( for example, I use the hi-res texture pack, but resampled them down to the same as the original textures, so I have more detailed low-res textures)

To me Doomsday is no longer Doom.

I have been messing around in the voxel editor Slab6 and it is possible to import the original sprites and make a 1-1 voxel to pixel ratio.

Shame I almost never play without brutal doom though...if someone made a voxel version of BD (I honestly don't think full 3d would work) then that would be heaven.

Well I mean you would still have sprite players and such, and monsters.

Well, as far as 3d models go, i find Doomsday's to be the better looking ones (GZDoom's/Skull Tag look way too diferent from the original, shotgun guys with spiked armor? what is this Mad Max Doom?!).

My only complain is the default Shotgun HUD model, a certain user named Dreadus made a replacement for it (which is a remake of the original shotgun) and thats the one i use with Doomsday.

To me the "soul" of Doom lies with its gameplay, so i have no issue in using texture/models/enchanced soundtracks as long as they at least attempt to have the original look.

(but i guess from our previous brutal doom discussion you kinda half knew i was going to say that :P)
