What? you didint specified which E1M1 you wanted to see :P
Yeah, Doom64 has brand new 32 levels, its not a direct port like all the other console versions, as you can clearly see. Go for Doom64EX, you will need to download the mod and have a ROM file of the game for it to work on PC.
Doom64 is a sequel to Doom 2, set after FinalDoom, thus its as far as the official doom story ever went and its also the most advanced doom version to be officially released by ID, at 1:52 you can actually interact with that wall computer, it is a internal camera similar to Duke3d's (it shows a secret megasphere in case your wondering).
From what i heard and read (on Doom wikia) its still the Doom Engine, but it was heavily modified. Doom64 was released after Quake, so they might have borrowed code from the updated engine.

Dont you see some rather... strange things about this one? (nothing is diferent from the original PSX game!).
Only thing that sucked about the 64 version was end of level saves only, which sucks when you have a level filled with puzzles which spawn enemies if you ♥♥♥♥ up (yes they have those) and traps which range from nailguns in walls (which do HUGE damage) or giant homing fireball launchers by the ceilings (yes they also have those)
One of my least favorite parts was a room with like, maybe 15 pillars in it, a switch at one end of the room, and a key which remained hidden until you hit the switch. Hitting the switch made the key appear for maybe 20 seconds, but during that time all the pillars start shooting nails out 8 each over and over till the time ran out. So in short you had to make a super meat boy dash trying not to die to get the key. It was a pain, and those nails would pierce your armor. Nasty stuff.
Grab Doom64 EX (again, you need a .rom of the original Doom64) and see your savegaming problems go away!!!
