The improved graphics you speak of are ports / mods. They can't be included in a retail release.
I agree that the steam versions are very poorly setup though.

Steam should give us the tools and give us a good experience D:

Steam can't sell you other peoples work.
You already have the tools to do it yourself? If you already have the game running how you like, whats the problem?

yeah, the tools are outside (no steam doom) how its possible pay an expensive price for doom :S. I just want to see steam doom like the no steam doom, i pay.

If you install your source port into steams doom folder where the dosbox.exe is then rename your source port .exe to doxbox.exe it will run through steam.
This works for all classic dooms except doom 2.

Thanks, but my point was difference steam and no steam doom, but i think i have to conform with this, i would like a change. Well, thanks for answering xd

If you mean you saw a retail copy of Doom running and it looked better than it does on steam.
Well the only difference would be dosbox settings.

Download Zandrodum and Brutal Doom,it fixes all of the compatibility woes and makes the game much better.

Better yet, instead of Zandrodum, get GZ doom and ZDL <--(a mod manager for doom). Delete dosbox.exe and rename ZDL to dosbox.exe This will make ZDL launch from steam .
Use ZDL to get multiple mods running.

Brutalized Doom 1 & 2 maps (more enemies and secret rooms)

Alternate HUD and lightmaps for doom along with new music

Another thing,to get rid of the "paper mario" sprites go to the options screen,go to video options-->open gl preferences-->change "sprite billboard" from "y axis" to "x/y axis". Characters and objects will nolonger look like cardboard cutouts.

Go to texture options and change texture filter mode from bilinear or trilinear to "none" for a more retro look if you wish.
