Yeah ive tried that still looks like crap, I am not implying that it needs better graphics i am implying that the emulation seems very inacurate.
I appriciate the links guys, but id like to play this on the original engine. any othere .conf suggestions?

The biggest problems I have with this version (and the BFG Editions) is that the gamma /brightness is jacked up way too high. Like in the screenshot above.
The lowest resolution my 4:3 LCD monitor can do is 640x480. So there is a lot of stretching of pixels going on there. If you really must play through DosBox your best bet would be to get an old CRT monitor so you can play in the rative resolution.

So I downloaded Brutal doom how does one install it to steam?
I think Steam needs an easy addon section much like Skyrim but for Doom
You need to download a source port first, there are many. I use zandronum.
