Linux doom would be nice
Doom was ported to linux approximately 159 years ago. So it'd be lovely if we could get the Steam version to linux as well :)

Get a source port that runs on Linux. Odamex runs great on linux (I used it back when I used to duel boot)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but is there any way to download Doom through Steam on Linux? Obviously I can download it on my Windows machine, and move the wads over, but it would be much more convenient to download it directly to my Linux machine.

E: Maybe I should give WINE a whirl.

Hi,
I talked Bethesda of the problem that Doom 1,2,3 and quake that have official Linux versions since a long time ago aren't available on steam for Linux. An employee answered me and said he has talked about it to his manager, but I'd better contact Steam also. Ps : Quake 4 also Mac support but not on Steam.
If we want a Linux support for those games that already has one (but not on Steam) everybody should write to Bethesda and Steam support. Here is the Bethesda mail : "ESO English Support" <ESO_Help@helpmail.elderscrollsonline.com>
