Dicuss with us how you first came across Doom, and your memories. I first came across doom at a baby sitters house. We went to block buster, she got DOOM, and was here, you'll love this. From then on, dooooooom!

I was about 11, they told me it was like Wolfenstien, they lied! There were god damn mosters everywhere! you could hear them coming for you! It scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. ♥♥♥♥ the pinkies! I still played it enough to finish the first chapter, but thats it. The sound of them coming for you was too much for me. I refused to play any shooter that had monsters as ememies way up untill The Orange box was released on xbox, so like 15 years. Scarred for life! I played with the keyboard only and didn't understand strafing, so hard.

Sped up pinkies are even worse, bounding across rooms in a blink of an eye, and biting you into pieces before you can react.

believe it or not, it was back in high school when I discovered this game, as the shareware version was on some of the school computers (also bought it a purchased copy and installed it during my next-to-final year)

I remember playing this on my grandpa's computer when I was a wee lad. I can't even remember how old I was, but I was definitely not in school yet, so it had to have been before 1999. Either this or Doom 2 might have been my first video game.

Back in my childhood around 94-96. It was like this. First game on consoles for me was Super Mario Bros (NES) and first game on PC was Wolfenstein 3D. Though neither did i play with WSAD+M. It wasn't until 98-2001 that my friend said that "you know you really should play like this, instead of slow arrowkeys.." :D

I'm now in my early twenties.

When I was around 5-6 I always saw my dad play games like Doom, Duke Nukem 3D or Rise of the Triad. Doom was always very fun to watch him play.

My first FPS I played myself was Blake Stone, but I got onto Doom shortly after.
It was amazing and I yet have to see an FPS that is better to be honest.
