Desperately seeking D3D9 Wrapper for Risen3D (Doom)
Does ANYBODY know where to fine an OpenGL to D3D9 Wrapper that works with Risen3D (Doom Source Port) My version of Doom in R3D is sweet and I would love to add ENB Series and SweetFX shader mods (D3D9 only) and run doom in Nvidia 3DVision. I have tried GLDirect and QindieGL and R3D Crashes on startup. Anyone know of a better wrapper?

Can't you just copy OpenGL*.dll to the Risen3D folder from your 3D cards drivers folder and then launch Risen3D?

If it's natively OpenGL then using a wrapper is only asking for trouble, especially as the early Doom Source Port Genealogy has multiple initial 3D variations. (All of which are OpenGL 3D, or "surface" renderers).

I need to wrap it to Direct 3D for using shader mods and 3D vision :'(

... or switch to a Direct 3D native version of a Source Port with similiar support?

I cant find ANY Sorce Port that has hd texture support/ 3d models that has D3D9 (Doomsday had D3D8 which has NO support for Shader Mods OR 3D vision :"( Why cant nvidia use 3d for OpenGL????? I hav always wanted to play doom in 3D!)

Which version of Windows are you running?

Reason being: I've heard some people "talk" about Windows 8 being native DirectX/Direct3D and that OpenGL is wrapped under Windows 8.x

Just wondering if it was true. (I doubt it is as there's no point in Microsoft doing this, they're not a hardware company --- well not really one).

Windows 7 (x64)

Would Windows 8.x fix it (assuming it does the above)?

idk I have heard people have had lots of trouble for some games under win8 (games starting as black screen only, crashing at startup etc)

Yeah, it's probably not worth the risk. I've heard mostly good things about it but I still haven't used my Windows 8.x upgrade kit. (Even though the things I hear are improved performance for ATI video cards, and I run a HD6870 with ARMA3 as my most "intensive" game).

The "possible wrapping of OpenGL to Direct3D" could explain some of the problems people are having with Windows 8.x though. (For you it may be a boon, for others a curse).

Thanks for double posting. Doomsday in 3d vision has blue blood instead of red blood
