Eh, just using source ports is the better solution, if you are going to spend a few minutes finding a fix, might as well get an improvement too, for the time spent.

Guess its kinda becoming a knee jerk reaction since for whatever reason some people are insisting on using the "steam version"(dosbox) and playing BD for whatever reason. Silly.

You cant play doom by using dosbox, ho well yes i think its still possible if you want the worst port ever and a very pixelised game....


I dont want to looks like a bad guy but when i see this Eh, just using source ports is the better solution by knowing the time it took me to do this guide, to make it very simple and easy, it make me a bit mad about you....

Anyway dosbox sux its old and sh!t, and you better avoid this old program.

Gzdoom is a good port cause well i dont care about the multiplayer, i only do single and i only play ultimate doom with mod like brutal doom, Alien TC, StrongHold.....

Zandronum i the same as gzdoom but for mutliplayer.

Yeah and those people are stupid.
If you want to get the best from doom ultimate + mod or doom 2 wathever, gzdoom or zandronum are the best port.

Make a folder in wherever you install your games. Call it 'Doom' (of whatever you fancy). Download GZDoom, and un-RAR/zip (unpack) the files in the map you created previously. Now go to your steam install directory of Doom and copy DOOM.wad (and/ or DOOM2.wad) and paste them in the folder where you've put the GZDoom files. double click GZDoom.exe and play! ;)

If you insist on going oldschool i would advice you this: do NOT use the steam version (dosbox). Use a sourceport called Chocolate Doom (or alternatively Crispy Doom or PrBoom).

Btw gzdoom do the works too, and if you expect some multiplayer >>> zandronum.

I did the install of zandorium and put the brutalzoom20.pk3 in the base folder and when I run ultimate doom it loads zandorium but doesn't give the option to run brutal doom. It shows regular ultimate doom which runs normally (no brutal doom)

Cant tell you, my guide is for gzdoom, i guess you can still follow this guide if you will to use zandro.

Anyway refer to my guide then, sorry am sick of loosing time with people that cant even follow a very simple guide, i guess you understand this.

I even added a last thing on my guide ,a thing that make zdl not needed at all and permit you to runs multiple pk3 files.......

My guide is clear, i guess you could follow some of the step from this guide to make your doom working with zandro, anyway zandro is more for the multiplayer.

And me i only care about the single player >> gzdoom so.
