DOOM (1993)
The Ultimate Doom will not go past Title art, windows 8.1
Hello, i'm trying to run The Ultimate Doom on windows 8.1, and i've followed two guides of how to get the game running on my computer. The program and boots up without any issues but when it comes to actually playing the game, it won't make it past the Title art of Doomguy in the pits of Hell blasting wildly.

If anyone can help me out, i'd appreciate it a lot. I've been dying to play it for a good while now.

Try this:

Just copy the WAD over into the PrBoom folder for all four episodes.

Do I re-download the Steam versions, then just copy and paste the WADs into that folder, then the Steam versions will work or should I add them as "non-Steam games" instead?

Did you do what it says in this guide?

yeah i tried that, and like i said it booted the game up to the title art but like, the start menu wouldn't come up, an d idk what I did but I somehow managed to get the game working by alt tabbing out of the start up and coming back in, since i heard the music playing in the background of my other monitor
yeah he explains that in the instructions. I wish they'd just fix the game for windows 8 users because going through all this hassle just to have it run is annoying. I'd like to just play it straight from the desktop just like all of my other games
This works for my Win 10.
