Also will their be a patch that will correct the bug that causes you to save every time you try and get the bricktrons to move when telling them to do something?
We've got several ideas as far as adding to survival goes, but we haven't fully decided yet, so it's a bit early to say.
And we will absolutely be optimizing the AI more as time goes on. Eventually, Bricktrons will do exactly what you tell them when you tell them, so long as they can.
This is a trickier question to answer, since I need to ask multiple people about it. This is one of the ones I'll get answered at the end of the AMA. :)
It's hard to say right now. Since the game isn't optimized yet, there's not really any set hardware requirements yet. It seems to run passably on this laptop though, which is an older HP with a 2.2GHz dual core processor and 4gb of RAM. But, I've seen stronger systems have a lot of trouble, so it's tricky.
We don't really have a set ETA for him just yet, sorry.
1# -Is there any plans on adding additional content, both for practical use and for cosmetic changes? For example, practical use could be more items to enhance the creative aspect of the game, such as bridges or scaffolding, whilst cosmetic could be things like flags for your castle, clothing for your workers etc.
2# - Are there any plans to support various gamemodes? This would go hand-in-hand with the world editor. Some gamemodes in mind could be capture the flag or king of the hill, simple ideas like that to add to the replayability value of the game.
3# - Along the lines of cosmetic changes, an idea could be a variety of terrian, or world types. Are there any plans to implement different varties of sceneries, such as desert, artic, jungle etc?
4#- This is more of an idea that a question, but seeing as this is a sandbox game, it would be nice to see support towards community projects. It would be nice to see flexibility in being able to create with friends, allowing the workers etc, to be controlled by all players to create cities and worlds together, similiar to how games like minecraft function. It's drop in/out, build, create and have fun. Do you have any similiar ideas for gameplay or features along these lines?
5# - Lastly, how do you, as developers, envision the game in say, a years time? Is there a particular milestone you have to which point you can say you've created the game you dreamt up?
The only 100% confirmed things right now are PVP and Co-op. There are certianly plans to streamline the whole thing though, and we may end up having additional game modes later on.
#1 - We'll definitely be adding more content later on in development. We just need to finish the code-base refactoring first.
#2 - We are planning to have more game-modes than what we've got right now. Exactly what form they'll take when they're added isn't 100% locked down yet.
#3 though #5 I'll add these to the main list and answer them at the end of the AMA. :)
This is an interesting idea. I'll present it to the rest of the guys.
