Descent Killer?
Just downloaded Retrovirus and played for about an hour. I'm a guy who has kept Descent 2 alive on my computers since the mid 90's so I'm the prospective customer Credenza is aiming for. I have to say I'm impressed with the controls and the world is beautiful. I haven't run into any serious action yet in the game but I am totally engrossed so far. Too soon to say if this is the Descent killer we've all been hoping for, but I'm very excited to have stumbled upon this game!

This doesn't kill Descent... Retrovirus augments the Descent genre.

Descent 1, 2, and 3 were excellent... Retrovirus really adds a new dimension and a few really cool twists and turns on the tunnels theme.

Had to dust off my old trusty Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2... It works very very well in Retrovirus just like it did in all 3 Descent games.

:)

How was it you stumbled upon this game? Was it via the Steam page, a review etc?

I think it was via http://www.descentbb.net/viewforum.php?f=57

At least that is how I found this game.

I post as "SirWinner" on the Descent Bulletin Board from time to time.

Just want to say i am really happy some other developer tried to do a Descent like shooter, I think the game succeds far better doing this than Forsaken. But other than that i really really like how the environments are and how everything is designed through a computers build up the references to Internet Browser email and OS structure is all very clever way to make the player engaged in figuring out how your world was created. the bosses are quite tough i am playing on Admin difficulty. and having some tough fights sometimes. Anyways just want to say a great game love progressing in it and i have yet to try out multiplayer, if there is Co-op in it i would love to try that at some point :D good game overall. I do like to play this game with the original Descent soundtrack not to much of the less melodical style used in this game. don't really get the action up and running..

I've been waiting for Ages to see a game that brings back the style of Descent 3 and the series! Already have it on my wishlist, and saw it when it appeared on steam's list. If anything Interplay needs to wake up and realize this type of game's been long missed. Until this game, few to none have even come close to making a match for Descent 3. Let's hope this brings a revival of the Zero G flight Style!
