Clarify on the multiplayer?
Hello, i am seriously thinking about whether or not to buy this game because it looks rather awesome. My question is, can anyone clarify or shed some light as to how robust the multiplayer is? Does it have many game modes? is there customization and unlocks? etc, etc. I want to buy this but I would like to know if its going to be one of those games where its an awesome single player experience with just a tacked on multiplayer or not. Thanks guys.

Sir...why must you make this game sound so sexy? lol i may pick it up now. Let me go to the official website and see if there is any word on customization aspects in the multiplayer (loadouts, perks and such). Thanks for the info!

I'm actually the community manager.

You can create custom loadouts in multiplayer. There are 3 pre-defined loadouts which follow basic archetypes (agility, intellect, strength.)

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Moba? While I own the game I haven't gotten to multiplayer yet. Is there any official videos featuring the gameplay like a promo vid or trailer? That way I can see how this moba works.

Do you guys also have a youtube channel by chance?

If you want a peek at the perk system I posted a screenshot on the steam community page. For each of the 3 Agent skill trees you can choose from 7 passive and activatable modifications and 6 weapon modifications that change a stock weapon function and scan mechanics so drastically they become new weapons.

There are also 6 ultimates in the game that are unlocked when you drop enough memory into a tree. So far you can only use one ultimate ability in a build.

So, i have a question. Where is the local coop? I try to find it... but cant. I want to play in one pc with two gamepads... Please ask me.

Game looks great!
I was wondering how dedicated servers were setup, if they could run either under a Linux screen or Windows service(no gui so it would need to be able to start itself from the command line).

Sorry, the game does not support two players on one machine. There was some confusion when the "Local Co-op" flag was set on our store page to mean LAN Co-op (Local Area Network - you can see why it's easy to mix up). Anyway, co-op with one machine per player is supported and can be found by going to Multiplayer > Host Game.

@Jest The dedicated server is unfortunately Windows only. The server starts hosting as soon as it is run and gets its settings from a configuration file so it could be setup to automatically start with a batch file. You can configure the DS by running the RetovirusLauncher and then clicking "Start Dedicated Server". After you configure it, you can just run the DedicatedServer directly w/o the launcher. We plan on making improvements to the Dedicated Server interface, there are many features that would be really nice to have but were low on our priority list. Hopefully it will be getting some love in the not so distant future.

That's great to hear!
I'm glad you included a dedicated server setup.
Some great options would be(if they're not already in, I'm buying it right now)the ability to use command line arugments to set the port, players, ip, and any other setting you'd feel is useful. It can make server management easier in some cases when making universal changes to servers through scripting.

Why does everyone say this game supports local co-op when it doesn't? LAN multiplayer is not the same as local co-op. This is extremely disappointing.
