3D Vision
For whatever reason, nVidia's 3D Vision won't turn on with this game. Is there a reason?

We did not have the hardware to test 3D Vision before release, but stereoscopic rendering is a hobby of mine and I think Retrovirus would be a good fit for it. We will likely investigate several methods, 3D Vision included, when the Oculus Rift dev kits ship and we have time dedicated to alterning the engine to render for two eyes simultaneously.

AFAIK, you don't have to alternate the perspective in the game, the nVidia drivers do that themselves. Even old games not designed for it work though sometimes not great due to 2D elements or backgrounds rendered wrong depth, etc.. To make it work "perfectly", you have to deal with the depth of the 2D elements like the HUD and reticle.

I don't need it to play the game, of course, and I'm enjoying it so far, but 6DoF in stereoscopic 3D... awesome. I'm also curious why it isn't turning on by itself.

I would absolutely love it if this game supported 3D Vision. It's perfect for it.

3D vision support would definitely make me buy the game, I was thinking during the trailer its perfect for 3D.

With patch v1.0.5491, 3D vision support is much improved. It works best when lighting detail is Low, but we are working to improve the 3D with High lighting. Additionally, proper crosshair support and depth for other HUD elements will be patched in later.

Glad you're enjoying the 3D, it was quite fun to implement. Patch v1.0.5575 completed the remaining issues, like drawing HUD elements at the correct depth and accurate shadows (lighting on High detail).

We are still deciding what project to work on next as we prepare the editor for release.

wow thanks 10000x for adding this! The game looks amazing now, I'm gonna post on the 3D Vision forums.

If it wasn't for you supporting 3D Vision I most likely wouldn't have even learned about your game until it wound up in an indie bundle somewhere down the line. It's really great to see devs like yourselves listening to 3D Vision users and doing what you can to give them what they desire ... a more immersive experience. Thanks.

I probably won't be able to get to playing it right away, but I purchased it anyway. I'm curious about the controls. I plan on playing with a wireless 360 controller, Xinput, does the game have rumble/feedback support?

Just purchased this game solely because of 3D Vision Support. Thank you devs!

I will also add that having been told of this game on the Nvidia forums, and then reading this discussion page and seeing how responsive the developers were to implementing 3d support, I immediately purchased the game as well (I am an old time Descent fan ;-) I must say you have done a fantastic job and the game is a blast to play - awesome stuff! Thanks.

Also purchased purely due to 3D support. Dunno if I will ever play it but I really want to support the devs who support my passion for 3D!
