If the game isn't able to catch and report the error, then it's best to pull it from the Windows Even Viewer. You can view details about the crash at Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Applications. There should be a recent ".NET Runtime" error. The general information about the error should start with "Application: AntiVirus.exe", and the Exception Info that follows would help us identify and fix the problem if you copy it here.

I got it to work by closing MSI Afterburner before running. Both the game and the conffig work, neither worked before.

Natural Selection 2 was also crashing, and closing MSI Afterburner allowed me to play that too.

I was able to use MSI Afterburner by following these directions:

First of all, disable the setting globally:
Settings > On-Screen Display tab > More
(RivaTuner Statistics Server technology properties window opens)
Click on "Global" on the left hand list.
Select the "Wrench" icon in the upper right corner.
Disable "Enable compatibility with modified Direct3D runtime libraries".
Click "Ok."

Then, to activate the compatibility mode for your desired application:
If your game's executable isn't in the list, add it by pressing the "plus" at the lower left corner and supplying the path to the executable.
Then for that profile (select it from the list), press the "wrench icon" in the upper right corner.
There, activate "Enable compatibility with modified Direct3D runtime librarires".
Click "Ok".
Repeat for each application for which you use modified Direct3D runtime libraries.

Thanks for posting your solution - I deleted the error reports so other people can more clearly see your findings.
