Is there a demo? Performance issues?
I hear of performance issues and I have a mid-range PC. Really love Descent but don't want to buy this only to find out I can't play it.

During our Kickstarter an 'alpha' demo was released for Retrovirus. However that version does not have any updated performance improvements that would allow you to judge if your PC is performant enough to play Retrovirus. Cadenza doesn't have plans of releasing a demo for Retrovirus as we feel there are sufficient reviews of the content. Creating a demo would take away from supporting those who have already purchased the game. We are currently creating additional content and preparing the level editor for release. Thanks for you post and we hope you will give Retrovirus a chance.

Thanks for the answer. My PC is good enough to run most things but the consistent comments about this running only on high end machines really makes me not being able to take the jump, even though this game clearly is for me. I think a demo would be great for this reason.

We've addressed many of the performance issues that were previously mentioned.

I have a mid-range systems, AMD Phenom II, EVGA 460 GTX SE and it runs just fine on my machine and looks great. Of course ymmv depending on your configuration and components but the game runs great for me.

Unfortunately on my mid-end system I'm still having framerate issues even on the lowest graphical settings. Only in the singleplayer game though, the game runs perfectly in multiplayer without any hiccups (at least, the few times I've found someone to play against).

I wish there could be a demo, so I could get a taste of the gameplay and the overall feeling of it. Reviews and videos alone just aren't enough. Otherwise, unless it gets included in a Humble Indie Bundle, I don't think I will buy this game.
