Minor powers have zero chance at surviving any conflicts with a major power(ie more historical). However, the game is somewhat broken if you ever want to consider anything with navies. The British fleet plays as if its using ships made of steel.

Denmark was a minor power in 1805. Pretty much like today.

Well. a few mistakes there. They're among the top (10) military powers in Europa and have the top most trained special forces and Espionage Agents in the world (today).
And Denmark-Norway beat Sweden 11/12 Times and then dominated all trade in the Baltic IN 1805. And had huge expeditions in Greenland.
Might want to get your history down, mate.

LOL, are you attempting to be serious?

Let me help you out since you obviously are persuaded by nationalsim and propaganda quite easily.

First off, the Kalmar Union betweeen Denmark and Norway was dissoveled in 1814 because Denmark went bankrupt due to that trade domination you talk about. As for your silly claims, see below.

There are normally through history 3 catagories of nation state status. 1) Major powers 2) 2nd rate powers and 3)minor powers. The 4th catagory is those countries unabale to even defend oneself.

In todays world, we have the US, China, Russia as what we would call major powers. India borders on that claim. Then you have 2nd rate powers like the UK,Germany, Japan, France, Brazil...ect

Then you have the minor powers(all the rest).

Denmark has been a minor power since the middle 1700's. Heck, her claim to fame is the shortest military campaign in history, she lasted a whole six hours against Germany in 1940. Even today she is considered one of those minor powers who's defenses would be considered a speed bump for any serious nations armed forces. In fact, she is ranked 44th in the world. Anything after a 30th ranking, is a glorified police force. After all we are talking about a country with a whopping 57 tanks in her active army.

To answer the question, no. The two can be linked together but no more. IMHO CKII is the greatest grand strategic game ever created.I own EUIV, it's good, but it's no CKII.

This is probably one of the worst paradox game, I remember how alot of people were hyped about this game because it was in set during the napoleonic wars(Including myself) and it ended up being a let down, I bought it on the day of released, played it for a bit, hated it.

I echo The Rebel Fighter. This game is not my cuppa. it doesn't even really capture the feeling of an era right at all.

I am as much an admirer of Danish and Norweigian military prowess as anybody. But let's get some things straight. You are not the most trained special forces by any means, especially since the true measure of training is real world, oh-my-god-what-happened-to-his-head?- combat. The Danish military has seen far more of that then many others (Hungary, Luxembourg, Switzerland, I'm looking at you). But it doesn't have the same.

As for the top ten military powers in Europe, that sounds far more impressive than it actually is. Especially depending on the defintiion of "Europe."

Let me give a quick gut check. Going off of EU Nations alone, to play "fair."

1. United Kingdom

2 France

3. Germany.

4. Italy.

5. Poland.

6. Norway.

7. Denmark.

8. Netherlands.

9. Finland.

10. Spain (?)
