Had the game WAY back when it was a ♥♥♥♥in .rar download off a shifty backwater site. Back then you couldnt even see most of the UI, but i just went on with my business loving the game and thinking to myself "oh, they will update and it will be even greater!" Spent probably 45+ hours on the Alpha alpha loved the concepts and all.
>Fastforward to the steam release of SF.
Nice big randomly generated map and finalized basic enemy - GLORIOUS, loved the hour long resource collection about 400 meters underground with my buddies, trying to avoid the Worm nests, had a blast,
>Fastforward to "Beta" release
>removed underground resource collection
>changed it to giant earth nipples chocked with resources
"Oh ok, thats ok I guess, dont have to worry about dying and losing your ♥♥♥♥ half a mile underground. Hmm, takes the challenge out though"
>Unoptimised as a mother-♥♥♥♥er
Im talking 7 steps and a generating terrain message would pop up, made vehicle rides interseting
>Removed the super whack randomized guns like the 7 barreled sniper cannon with chainsaw bayonets
Devs promised more content in the future, but at the same time removed a lot of what made StarForge a fresh fun game
>Fastforward to about a year ago
Devs open up founders club (Starforge equivalent to preorder and bonus content ♥♥♥♥) for an expensive price like $20 or something I can't remember
Im sitting over here playing the game with my friend and we were once more disappointed since we've been playing since this games birth, not being able to get the bonus content when we brought it up to the devs.
Once more, trying to be an optimistic individual, think, maybe they really need the money, that'll get the game development rolling again
>Fastforward to now
Devs abandoned project and left with the founders club money and left behind mad, swindled, and disappointed fans
10/10 Would dissappoint again.
