I actually finished the game before maxing out (I got the 10mil on the same run as hitting 7mil on Hero). Heck, even with the 30k gold I had after that I still haven't fully upgraded my armor.

Then again, take that with a grain of salt; I've got a lot of experience in puzzle games in general. I'm likely a statistical outlier.

What I will say is that very early on, it felt like I was maxing out my tutor and weapon shop and was having to wait a lot on the wood/ore to actually build them; then very quickly was speeding through upgrading those and suddenly no longer had use for ore/wood waaaaay before maxing other purchases. This got awkward when I later had to turn off the potions for actually making those useful (the ones that turn ore/wood into gold/exp) in order to achieve one of the Explorer tier goals.

If I were to have been recording my winning Questor run, I would have 9 hours of unusable footage. I played Tetrisphere competitively as well as no time to choose on Puzzle Quest vs mode for years. I think your game is BS. Maybe if I had a touchscreen monitor or I micromanaged the dpi on my mouse. But as is, not a fan. And if my anger gets the best of me & my feces when thrown can't reach you, this monkey can at least hate on you by name, FULuca.

I'm awful at puzzle games and I'm not even close to maxing out anything yet in my 119 mins of playing. I don't think the game is too hard...I just suck at puzzle games :D

I just hit hero after about 5 hours of play. I've got all buildings upgraded, all xp upgrades purchased, and my sword and staff are at their highest levels. Still working on shield and armor. High score is 6.45 mil.

I've never played this particular variety of match-three game, so learning all of the proper moves is taking a while. I'm still often seeing patterns that would be a match in puzzle quest, and it takes a while before I realize that it isn't a valid move in this game.

Edit: Cleared all objectives in hero, and have everything except for my shield fully upgraded. Once I've maxed that out, I can equip the invulnerability potion and shouldn't have too much trouble hitting 10 mil.

Edit 2: I now have all of the upgrades, and now I just need to get 10,000,000 points. Time played now shows 6 hours.

Edit 3: Just beat the game, managing a 11 million point run. Steam says I've played for 6.3 hours.

Like Garlyle, I finished the game before maxing out the upgrades.
However, if you're worried about the game being too hard, there's an easy way to fix it.
More upgrades.
The nice thing about upgrade games is that the difficulty adepts to your skill, so if you're bad, upgrades will make it easier, but if you're good, try playing with less upgrades.
One upgrade I would like is a bigger boost from running.

I would like to see the rest of the game myself, I have the flu & am on Questor w/ 70-80k of everything the achievement for beating the stupid tree (the OP one) but over my dozen hours & my dozens of 690 some odd thousand while the game makes some super combo of apparently not swords or sticks (I think thats what those intentionally jaggy things are) whatever I stand by my disdain of the developer for the product that I played.

I have been stuck at Questor for 5 hours myself and am maxed to the point that I can with 16000 gold 25000 wood and stone and 45000 xp and cannot get above 590000 no mater what I do. I like the game but it seems that I can go from being over halfway to the right to dead in about 3 seconds.

I maxed everything out before finishing the game, using potions to go faster (more wood and stone to upgrade rooms, then more gold to upgrade items, then more experience).
Now I have completely finished the game (including all achievements), and Steam says I played for 8 hours. So, I don't think that the game is (too) hard at all, or maybe have I been lucky (knowing that I'm not especially good at puzzle games) ?
Anyway, thanks for this great game !

I've gotten everything in the game except for 10 mil in one run. :( I suck. :( There were some objectives that took many many runs to get but some of them I got through sheer luck.

In my opinion the game got much easier later on as you could acquire a much higher score due to the multipliers. I'd love the addition of a rank system or something that would keep me playing the game.

I maxed out sub-Hero rank. I've played for 17 hours and still haven't got all the achievements yet - only broke 10mil at around 15 hours I'd say (on Hero). What really gets to me is that it seems the further I run for the less time I gain for doing things.. I kill things incredibly fast but it means nothing because I gain next to no ground and lose from a paltry punch from a weak melee monster :(
Probably why I can't get the achievements for completeing on Dungeon Master + Explorer, I need the high multiplier otherwise i just cant gain enough ground.
