My own nostalgia was kicking in when i seen this, i thought i should check the forum for compatability issue and read this. Solid advice for newcomers indeed.
Sure want this to win. I'll buy DL 2 and Space Ace as well if (and only if) it does. Would rather have all 3 at $10 or less though... but I'd hoping to install this for a weekend of nostalgia.
Back in the arcades, this game and the D&D Shadows over Mystara ate every quarter I had as a kid. lol
Slightly OT, I was watching the old movie Xanadu (with Olivia Newton John) and was amazed to see some Don Bluth animation in that. There's some interview material and it's fun watching them comment on their involvement. I highly recommend the DVD of that if you're into 80s film and need everything Bluth ever did. and while I'm on the subject, I saw the DVD of Titan AE (a slightly underrated Bluth effort) in Big Lots for $1.50. The packaging is minimal, but the disc is certainly included. ;) I already have the original release DVD.
You are wise beyond your years.... and for that, I respect you.
Happy New Year.
Thanks. you too. :D
One other thing to point out as well.. the release of Dragon's Lair 3D that came out a few years ago is also *not* the original. It was an attempt to revamp and modernize the game which in its own way, it did well with - It was mostly the same as the original but the rooms werent random, and you have 3d movement support. But this version is far better insomuch as the authenticity of the gameplay goes.
I was totally stoked to find this game. I remember playing it at a Showbiz Pizza in 1984! Or rather...staring dumbfounded in horror as I burned an entire week's allowance in less than 30 seconds and still had no idea what had happened.
Great memories! Winning it now with the move guide turned on feels a bit cheap....but still strangely satisfying after all the heartache this one gave me when I was a lad.
