Steam Cloud ever going to happen?

I would actually instantly buy this if it did have Steam Cloud. I use many computers, and change hard drives frequently. I see that it says using Dropbox. Does that mean I have to download that program as well and manually set it up? Most of my games have it and would like to start using this program. Is there ever going to be Steam Cloud?

Yes, you need to use DropBox, Steam Cloud doesn't really fit the requirements (there's a file limit, and we use lots of files, so it's quite possible to go over the top of it). Using dropbox allows us to sync with mobile devices as well as all your desktops, so we've gone with that for now. We may look into other syncing methods at a later date.

You don't have to use dropbox if you don't want to - YNAB runs just fine locally on your machine. Feel free to grab the demo and give it a try and see if it works for you.

How about Google Drive? I'm not satisfied with Drop Box's security history.

If Google Drive works automatically with your file system, then the cloud syncing between multiple PCs/Mac will work just fine, but it won't sync with your mobile device.

We're pretty happy with DropBox's security - they had a scare a while back, but it turned out that the "hackers" were just using a known password and could only access the files of the user they had the password for in exactly the same way that anyone could access something they have the password for. They couldn't access other people's data.

That said, you shouldn't be storing anything particularly sensitive in YNAB anyway. Things like account numbers and passwords should be stored in a secure location (keePass, lastPass, something like that).

The Drop Box setup is fairly automatic, with regards to YNAB. The real-time integration it has given me with several computers and a phone is amazing.
