You should consider it an investment ^^ I know it's pretty costly but i'm really considering it, might buy it soon

Can't really invest on something that tells you to live on LAST month's budget. Exactly which decade does this software think it's released in? In this economy you live by this month's or you don't live at all. The people who live beyond their means when only making enough to get by per month will never have the sense (or the extra money) to buy budget tracking software. Everyone else either has no choice (i.e. still living within their means) or they simply don't need the help.

There will be fringe cases here, as in everything, but I'm curious if the developer makes enough money off the fringe cases to justify the time spent working on this. Oh wait, that explains the price.

Book keeping software is different, benefits everyone, and there is good FREE alternatives out there.

Hi Catz,
There's probably more people than you realise who need to get their finances in order, but just need a little nudge to do it.

The whole point of living on last month's income is to stop you having to live paycheck to paycheck. Last month's income is a goal, rather than a hard and fast rule you have to apply when using the software. We've had plenty of users never move to living on their last month's income, but who still use the software just fine.

But, that said, no one is forcing you to buy the software, so you don't have to worry :)

I know I poked you for this in another thread RodeoClown, but this is another great example of why the trial should be more like 90 days. It would let people discover the app, figure out how it works, and start building that buffer, including the cost of this app so they can buy it. That'd be an investment in your customers. ;)

We extended the trial to 34 days to make sure people could see it working over the month boundary, but we actually see a decrease in usage when people don't have to put their money where their mouth is.

If you really need longer than 34 days to test, you can let us know, and we can extend the trial (we can't extend the Steam trial though - so you can test on the normal version, and then buy on Steam if you think it's useful).

That's interesting - perhaps I was an edge case. Or perhaps you're just getting more sales from people who aren't following through on the budgeting. For me, I was 3 months in and the thought of losing all of that work, combined with the great experience, made it an immediate purchase for me. Regardless, the data doesn't lie, so 34 days it is. :)
