Yes, but you will lose the fancy automatic sync with mobile devices.

You can use WiFi sync to sync the mobile apps manually with a computer, and you can use other cloud storage systems (like Google Drive, or MS Skydrive) to sync automatically between computers (but not with mobile apps).

You can of course also do without any sync at all and just run a local copy.

Cheers.

It would be nice if they could also use Steam Cloud to sync the data between computers (or in case of computer failure).

Unfortunately Steam Cloud doesn't support the kind of data we need to move around. There are limits on what you can do with it that make the syncing just not work well (we throw around LOTS of tiny files, which Steam Cloud doesn't deal with well).

Using Dropbox also gives you backup in case of a computer failure.

You really should have dropbox anyway. It's free and incredibly useful for, well, everything.

I dunno, got me thinking when someone mentioned dropbox could easily give out your info to financial places you don't want to share with. At least without it, its on my PC.

Well the only info really is how much money you have or don't have :P This isn't like mint where you provide your accounts and passwords. There is really no sensitive personal information contained in this program. There's really nothing anyone can do with the information.

Dunno just paranoid lol. Its like every year new laws are in place that have an eye on how much money you have and where. Its ridiculous.
I highly recommend using something besides DropBox :P As an IT professional, we've blacklisted DropBox due to their inability to confirm their security methodology. Box.net has.... as well as a few others. Not to mention, this data isn't your family photo album, this is your money.

Could you please support more cloud services such as Google Drive/Box.net?

Hi Grievance,
At this stage we aren't likely to support them.
You can use them just fine now, as long as you don't want to cloud sync with your mobile device.

We go into more detail here: http://www.youneedabudget.com/forum/ynab-f96/support-for-google-drive-icloud-sugarsync-skydrive-t16296.html
