6x4 vs 6x2 - Discuss
Which is better, 6x4 chassis or 6x2? I had 6x2 but I upgraded to 6x4. I read guides and they all said that it has better grip, but no one mentioned the steering. I think the steering gets worse in 6x4 due to the lack of the turning wheels in 6x2.

What do you think? Discuss.

Mainly the 6x2 to way to foreign to me. I've never seen a truck that the wheels turn like that, so I just prefer the look of the 6x4. I don't find the steering that bad, handles pretty tight areas ok for me.

6x4 are far superior in my opinion. I like the "bling" you can get on 6x2 with the side guards and exhaust, but the rig gets far too unstable with too few tires on the pavement.

I haven't see a problem with steering at all on 6x4.

Actually, you can't get any sideskirt customization with 6x2, either. Only with 4x2.

But yeah, I tend to overspeed sometimes around turns and corners, so I am hoping 6x4 will help a bit. 6x2 definitely didnt, ha ha.

I think there are a few mods that'll let you customize on a 6x, I just haven't installed any to know. But you're right, it's only on 4x with a vanilla install.

For stability with all load types, the 6x4 is king.

Just FYI, 6x2 and 6x4 can have sideskirts with mods. So they can look equally as cool!

I am going to assume both models have about the same stability, but I could be wrong with that.

So far, the 6x4 is doing really well. Oh man oh man oh man! I am transporting cars, too. Imagine if I did that with glass panels. o_______________________o;

To each their own. I have yet to get into an accident with either, and will argue until the day I die 6x4 is a more stable platform on which to truck, especially with heavy loads that like to push the cab all over the road. :)

i have yet to take cargo on a 6x2 but yes realy heavy cargo 6x4 i had the best luck with stoping and not dieing on a hill it dose try to jack knife on me xbox 360 wireless controler i have is nearly at its life end so steering gas and brake are a little nutty but 4x2 trucks all crash with me in them but 6x4 are B###y when you try to turn them and with my controler its realy a pain but im a cheep A$$ so no replace it lol

If I attempt to back up a 6x4 too sharply, it can sometimes jack knife, and does sometimes take a lot of room to correct. But with careful maneuvering it's easily avoidable. Granted it's not as maneuverable as a 6x2, but still not that bad in tight areas with a little finesse! :)

I am actually using the 4x2 and I have yet to flip this truck. When I was doing quick jobs, I would always get 6x2 and 6x4 and I almost always flipped with it.

i have tried 4x2 and 6x2 and 6x4 and 4x2 i use when running short runs with small loads and 6x2 is the one i favor the most due to more stable than 4x2 but more nimble than 6x4, but if i do a long run with heavy load i prefear 6x4.

So most people here say the 6x2 is better, then?
Knottypine Feb 20, 2013 @ 11:03am
Just depends on your preference. 6x4's are more manly.... 6x2's kinda girly.... LOL Nah kidding! Just preference I suppose, watch the size of the fuel tanks, they may differ on some models when comparing between them.

Well, I am using 6x4 right now. I don't THINK I notice anything different, but that may be a reverse-placebo effect. Iunno.
