900 Degree Wheel
Is a 900 Degree wheel a necessity for ETS2 ? If not what is the minimum you would use.

Recommendations very welcome :)

Cheers, LP

I've been using my wheel at 900 degrees, and it works brilliantly for this game. In fact, it's the first game I've had where it actually feels useful (racing with 900 degrees on is usually not a great idea - I race at either 270 or 540, depending on the game).

Not sure if having only 270 or so would be a problem in this game... don't see why it would, you'd just need to be more precise with your turning.

ide say if you want to enjot it more its defferently 900 degree you need and defferently neeed 900 degree if you like the inside view as the wheel will not turn the same on screen if its less than 900 degree but mine was on default 200 degree my wheel before i set it to 900 degree and it was way to sensitive and i like the inside view so when it was set to 200 degree my wheel would turn like twice on screen when i was only turning a little bit with the actual steering wheel so ide say your gonna like it alot more with 900 degree gives it that more realistic feel :)

^Yes 100%. I'm using the Driving Force GT. I have most on the controls mapped to the wheel so i don't need the keyboard and mouse at all.

I've heard great things about the G27, but I can say from experience that my Fanatec is just amazing. It's a bit pricey though, and definitely harder to find than a G25-27 (especially used). IMHO though, it's worth it just for the brilliant full-metal pedals. Words cannot describe how sweet they are. Also, it's the only (serious) wheel that works with the XBox 360, and therefore Forza (and absolute requirement for me).

Managed to get myself a G25 this evening, just have to wait for it to arrive mid week :)

I do not own this game however I just ordered the Fanatec Forza Value XL pack with the elite pedals. I tried out the Logictech Driving force GT and it was awful especially the pedals. But what do you want for 119 dollars here in the USA . The GT 27 retails for 240.00 i was what the hell not just spend another few hundred and get the wheel with the stand RennSport Wheel Stand V2 US and shifter attachment kit for 20 bucks more. order came to 548.37
The shipping was like 30 bucks and the mounting stand was like 130 bucks. Overall though the value pack wheel is like 355.00 with shifter and attachment for stability. Plan on using my own chair to move to the computer or xbox and with the option to play on the PS3 is nice since i still have not played Grand T Prolog . Alot of my games are on the xbox anyway since i own all the driving games. I just own a PS3 for exclusives. The logictech is a great wheel for people who just own a PS3 and computer other then that spend the extra dough and hop your Fanetec wheel does not break or give you issues. From what i am hearing the customer support is horrible.... It is the best wheel on the market so hopefully it will be great on the xbox. The games on the PC using the driving force GT were horendus and maybe it was just me idk , i only had a few hours to test . I probably need to test on my 60" plasma, I am sure once my forza wheel gets here it will hopefully give me that wow factor .

I figured i would start building up my periphials for my man cave in the future, in 1-2 years this setup will be obsolete since I am sure it will not be working on the new ps4 or xbox..
Still compatible though with PC for the next 5 years im sure.

I have the same wheel. Manual shifting with clutch does not work correctly. I use the Sequential shifter which works awesome. Also there is a lack of FF from the game but in wheel settings you can set the tension of the wheel.

Remove the wheel stand and use your desk. You save $129.95. But you should save money for it. It's compatible with PS3, Xbox, and PC. The brake also has a potentiometer so it simulates ABS shaking when you slam on the brakes Kinda cool.

I have the Fanatec Porsche 911 GT3 RS v2 and Clubsport Pedals v2 and they're awesome. I had to set mine to 770 degrees to be able to accurately follow the virtual steering wheel 1:1. The pedals rock! Especially the brake and clutch.

Correctly set up, a 900 degree wheel EXACTLY tracks the on screen wheel, the sense of immersion is total.

When using a wheel with this game it simply has to be 900 degrees if you want the full experience, anything less and you're losing so much control and realism that you might as well just play with the keyboard.
