realistic damage
i like this game but i think for those of us that like to mess around would like to see realistic and/or semi-realistic visual damage to any and all vehicles when theres an impact and it varies with speed... just wondering... will they add something like that as an update or something? cuz that would make it even more awesome of a game.

not likely but I'm totally with you - it's just incomplete without decent damage modeling
and a bad enough accident should have you buying a new truck to replace the one you just destroyed

all good tho' it's still by far the best truck game I've tried

and racing dangit - it needs racing!

this has been talked about alot on the offical forums, but the word is they won't do it because of the agreement with the real truck manufactures, kinda sad to me, cause I wouldn't mind crashing the truck up some and seeing the damage caused lol

What is wrong with those dumb ppl that dont want to show their damaged trucks. We all know that they can break ect. so why not allowing to make realistic damage. They are stupid for blocking ability for real damage.

" dumb ppl for not allowing to damaged their trucks "

Seriously ?? O.o

I'm almost certain i've never seen an ad that say " our sofas burn as fast as other sofas " or one that say " our pills have as many contraindications as other pills " and you would not see a truck company allowing to show how easily their trucks can be damaged.

Being able to reproduce real trucks in the game is some kind of recognition by the truck's manufacturer itself how good the game is. Otherwise, it would be called " Destruction Derby : Now with trucks "

well there is an older game called hard truck 2 that has decent physics...well for a game made in late 90s it has great physics but i thing it would be great if some newer game developers made a freeworld game like hard truck 2 but with the new graphics and physics of 2013

It is kinda dumb if they're equating game truck damage to their real truck (granted some people may play the game and make such a ridiculous conclusion) If the manufacturers actually only allowed their truck likeness to be used on the condition that they cannot be damaged in the game - yeah I agree that's a bit dumb. And anybody that sees simulated damage to anything in a game as a true reflection of the real item has a "problem"

haha - I liked that crazy game, something surreal about it that makes it very addictive, corrupted saves is the only reason it's not installed right now. I like the insane shortcuts like the mines with a trailer attached and trying to find my way to that terminal out in the desert (can't remember the name now)

And it had racing dangit! (lame racing, but it was a nice touch)

Do not preach to the choir, brother. It's easier for the dev to code a game where nothing can be destroyed and easier for the manufacturer when its truck is as good as another one in a crash.

But you want realism ? Do you want to explain to a player that he will wreck his Iveco 10 times more than a Volvo, despite being almost the same price ? I will not ;-)

What is the point to having any damage? Ahh.. yes. Stop the modding of the trucks and get fixed colors and designs so we could have damage? That would go over well.

This is a trucking simulator, not an accident simulator. To include damage, so much of the freedom of modding would disappear and it would take up more ram and processing power to handle the ability to have accidents. The first thing would go is the ability to mod the trucks.

I love the game the way it is. The way to improve on this game is to make it a multiplayer game, but with all the mods its practically impossible to have multiplayer without having to resort to some sort of limitation towards modding. Oh well.

like other simulator games , it's possible to turn visual damage on/off .I also would find more realistic to see damage when hiting an highway guard rail or a curb . but they have to fix a lot off bugs first , like drastic frame rate drop on i7 CPU's (eight core) and true X-fire compability for multi GPU users . I already asked support and no answer :(

Sorry to wake up this old thread, but I'm also looking for a realistic damage model mod and found this thread.

But it's sad to read the posts here... damage modelling is actually a selling point for vehicles - normal cars advertise their safety features, eg airbags, crumple zones etc as part of the advertising. Trucks could do the same too.

In any case I'll continue to look elsewhere for any mods that could possibly add damage modelling to the game.

It would be nice to add a basic level of damage to maybe not the trucks, but things like fences and the cars on the roads.
gamer2456 Jan 15 @ 1:26pm
I think maybe sine no damage they should put truck have break over time from over use like in real life. Make going repair more realistic and maybe little rust/ weather paint over time.

That and worest weather like hail, rain and snow to show the weathering of the paint/dirt on the truck. Here some suggest to add few realistic elements to it like have driver need food/sleep and have car wash clean dirt off you're truck and restaurants to eat. All this suggest give something spend cash.
