Map Mods
I've just downloaded map mods which add Scandanavian countries, the rest of France, Russia, Ukraine and Romania to my game. I want to know, if this game is updated with a new patch to include any of these countries, would my current game progression get rogered? Or would it simply overwrite the cities but keep my progress with discoveries, garages, etc?

I don't want to have my game ruined if a patch does come along and changes everything.

As it stands, only the Scandanavian one works anyway. Does anyone know where I can get WORKING Russia, Ukraine and Romanian maps, and not just randomly made incompatable ones?

Wrong. TSM works too.

If you want the TSM map mod. go here. Enjoy the map.

I'd suggest you copy your profile before you try the TSM mod, though. It's been known to mess up your game.
Personally, I use the 'Going East' DLC and the Promods mappack which includes Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and a couple more cities in France.

I've spent the last two hours trying to download TSM map from different sources and they all mess up during download. As for the Promods pack, that is the only pack that DOES work, but it ignores all no speed limit mods, which means I'm still restricted to 90kph. Does anyone know of a mod that doesn't get ignored when promods are selected?

I used Promods for a long time. (got going east too) It got boring though so I got TSM. Tons of more locations. Harder routes too.

you can only download TSM from TSM's website, same with promods. Both mod will break with the upcoming patch.

as for the 90kph, you don't need a mod. Just go into the game options and turn off speed limiter.

I don't see how they would break with the upcoming patch. Even if they do, I bet the mod team will have an update to match the patch.

SCS has stated that all map mods will be broken by the upcoming patch, because SCS is changing something in the file format. Apparently all the mod author needs to do is run their map through the post mod authoring tool, or something to that effect. So yes the map mods will have to be revised to post 1.9 but it looks like it's an easy process to do so.

if they change things in the patch, it can break things. There are going to be some fairly big changes with the next patch. And Promods have stated that 1.9 will break their mod and they will have to update it then.

turn off your in game speed limiter, then no problem with the pro mods map

Does Promod and TSM work together, or do I have to choose?
chaseydog Jan 13 @ 1:47am
They do not work together. You can always play both by creating separate profiles

Okay, thanks.
How is it with my save game, can it still be used when I mod the game or do I have to start over?

I have one more question.
For the promod download definitions, when you set the damage level.
Is this visual damage or just a multiplier for the existing damage system in the game?
