Few questions from a newb! :D
First, is there a Euro Truck Simulator 3 or is there a planned one?

Second, can anyone record a video showing a good example of backing up and leaving your cargo? I am taking 20 minutes to do just that and I end up late often. :'( I could really use some help.

So I'm new to this type of game and I never thought I would enjoy this until I tried the demo and fell in love. :D

Who knew driving a truck with cargo around would actually be fun!

Any general tips would be great also as I just started and I've only bought my first truck and have been doing small jobs. I know there is much more to the game I just don't know how to procede gaining access.

The next game they are working on is American Truck Simulator, and I think/hope they'll keep expanding ETS2.

Parking gets easier with experience. It helps to watch a tutorial, and use your overhead cam when you need to. The more you use the mirrors the more the feel for parking like that becomes second nature. I'm still no parking ace either, but I do it for the extra XP.

I select the second view when I backup (outside the truck and u can manuver your view with the mouse) and go for those extra XP !!

Concentrate on what the trailer is doing , not the truck. If you want the trailer to go to the left, cut the truck to the right, and vice versa. Go slow, small changes usually work better than large ones

as bob says small changes and try to at least get it as straight as you can towards the bay your reversing into it takes time and practice belive me i haave hgv 1 plus different trailers act different in reversing eg low loaders etc differ from box trailer and it also makes a difference with the truck if its got more than one steering axle good luck

Thanks to everyone who has replied, I'm already parking easier than before! It's helped a lot. :D

Right after I posted my first question, I was making a delivery and as I exited the highway I find that I'm fined for speeding, less than 5 seconds later my entire truck flips over and comes to a stop slamming into a light post. -_-

I was delivering peas... PEAS! It ended up costing me about 20k, with towing and repairs. Was not a good day to say the least.

Just begin with breaking if you are on the lane to leave the highway ;)

I think SCS said that they'll keep updating ETS2 for another year or so, which is really good. But currently their main project is their next game called American Truck Simulator - check out screenshots of the game here http://blog.scssoft.com/search/label/American%20Truck%20Simulator. Their latest set of the screenshots are by far the best and show you what a great game it'll be! (when I looked at the other screenshots the game seemed like ETS2 with some re-textures and more buildings). The release of ATS is currently unknown but an alpha (or probably beta) Steam Early Access release should be around now, maybe even within the next few days? The full game should come out early spring-ish maybe later. After that they'll move on to Euro Coach Simulator. They've barely said anything about that as far as I know but here are some screenshots and a video: http://blog.scssoft.com/search?q=euro+coach. But just so you know the images are NOT of the ECS game, they are simply models of buses which SCS have made which have been put in to ETS2 to give you a sense of what Euro Coach Simulator may look like.
And that's everything for games.
Updates for ETS2 wise, there was supposed to be an AI fix (finally!) and a physics mod upgrade in version 1.8 but I think the AI fix needed more testing so it should come out in 1.9. There is also a new truck in the works, the DAF XF Euro 6 which they did sound recording of around a month ago so it should be out pretty soon, maybe in 1.9, but SCS haven't said anything about that truck as far as I know apart from releasing a video of the sound recording session they did.
But that's everything! I hope you enjoy ETS2 and I hope you enjoy future SCS projects and updates because I sure will! :')

By the way, I would recommend checking out Spin Tires. It's currently in development by Oovee, a small British studio. It's pretty much the complete opposite of ETS2, there is lots, and lots of mud with incredible physics. If you like the thought of trying to get your 80's, post-Soviet truck through a forest of thick mud, dense trees and raging rivers then you'll love Spin Tires!
Check out trailers of it on Youtube and have a look at the forums on Oovee's website, they've said it'll come out around spring!

Thanks for reading!

I've got some other questions I guess, this works with a wheel set up right? So what would be the most affordable good set up to get for a game like this? Does the game work with an Oculus, <may be misspelled!

I think it would actually be pretty dang awesome to use a set up like that. If this one can't be used with an Oculus would the next one available be capable do you think?

Cool summary, PraetorianPCs! We will post more things about ATS soon. That's why our blog exists. :)

ETS2 has both wheel and Oculus support. It's pretty awesome. ;) Read this thread[forum.scssoft.com] or watch this cool video by Nerdcubed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCYq-suTluo

Logitech G27[gaming.logitech.com] is probably the best one you can get.
