Could a mod violate terms of agreement?
I have a mod that gives you the official logo of the mercadez benz trucks and I was not sure if having this mod running would put me or scs in any legal bind due to it not being official or granted.

I only ask as I had been served a take down order years back for using an unauthrized logo that I downloaded off a graphics web site for a web site I had. if this mod is ok the fine I will let it be else I would suggest that mod authers be weary of the lawyers in black knocking at your door.

interesting question...2 lawyers could argue both sides of the arguement and each one would be right every other day of the week. I've not heard, though, of anyone getting in trouble for playing a game with a modification that has licensed logo's etc. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

you wouldn't get in trouble for using the mod. the author of the mod would be the one that would get in trouble if Mercedes decided to go after anyone. And since it is not being used commercialy, it is very unlikely that they would do that. What you did with the image for your website is completely different.

Thanks for the info. As for the image It was an image form Wordperfect that was being hosted on a freee graphics website back in '97 I was unaware of that fact untill I was given the takedown letter. I Took it down and replaced it with another one but also forwared the website info to the lawers to deal with so that no one else had to be a victim.
