it's realistic the way it is. if you have those values as the rea lones the map would be too small. the size of the map and the time and distances have been scaled down very good. you take as much time for a 100 km yourney with the ingame time as you would for 100 real kilometers in real time

The time/speed is scaled, or it would take REAL LIFE DAYS to complete some trips. Do you want to be driving, in a game, for DAYS, just to complete one haul?... Nah.
So they scaled the game world.

I actually wouldn't mind if the Maps were based on the real world. I've done several 12 hour Trips in FSX over the years.

The thing is though, is that my personal opinion is ETS2 is aimed at the Casual Simmer rather than Hardcore, and for a fairly small company, they need to be aiming at what people would want and buy.

I do hope though down the track now that SCS are getting quite a Name for themselves, that something like this might be on the planning boards, but unfortunately I don't see it.

Maybe from the Success of ETS2, then another Company will be interested in something more Hardcore and indepth.

Someone who was small but think about something bigger woould love to do this. I love it!

I think that was important was damages and physics that would do better performance! since all accident that had occured it seem's to me that it didn't show much. It would be a good job if they twitch this.

Yeah, you and the other two guys who have done 12 hour flights in FSX would really enjoy a "hardcore" version... ; ) You may want to note that FSX was ultimately a financial failure, and was sold off for use in more expensive training simulations (Read: more profitable) at Lockheed.

You have the concept, obviously, but that also means you realize there never has been and never will be a market for a real distance/time truck simulator. There ARE actual real world truck simulators as far as hardware and software, and they focus on familiarization and training of techniques - they find no value in sitting someone behind a computer screen for 8 hours to aim a truck.

But that was good 8 hour's of experience that you wont feel wasted since it's good experience. It does contain element's from a good game.

FSX was actually the most successful Simulator around.

The reason it was sold off was because after FSX Microsoft created "Microsoft Flight" which was a dumbed down, Arcadey Simulator that you would find around the place now. They charged DLC for all content in the Game including Area's, and Aircraft.

The Flight Sim Community uproared, and it resulted in Microsoft Flight being cancelled, and all of the Team for all Simulation software at Microsoft sacked.

FSX was only recently sold to Lockheed [last few months], but for the last couple of years, FSX has just been running off 3rd Party Developer Software [and still is] with no Microsoft support.
