Does STEAM need to be running for Program to work?

I don't have STEAM launching when Windows boots but I would need the program too (Currently using UltraMon). Will this program launch without STEAM being on? Does it basicaly function identical to a version purchased off their website (www.displayfusion.com)?

According to a forum post by developer RobotGizmo in the "Does this start with windows?" thread, steam does not need to be running in order to to use the software.

Vardath is correct, DisplayFusion runs perfectly fine without Steam running after it's installed. :)
