Story background?
Hello, I am a French Canadien, un vrai coliss de Québécois, and I am very interested in french canadian folklore and the history of Québec. I thought I'd write this post in english, so that our friends could learn more about our fabulous culture :) What really interests me here is your game's background; I wanna know what are the game's references to our culture and province.

I have made some research myself, and I have found that the character Jos is inspired from the Patriot Joseph Montferrand, who, according to the legends, projected 150 Irishes in the Outaouais River by grabbing one by the feet to use him as a club ;)

I also know that Mashteuiatsh is an actual village next to the Lac-Saint-Jean, so I guess that's where the story takes place.

Is the story inspired from one of our legend? I have searched but found nothing. Maybe it's not a well-known legend.

So yeah, I was wondering if there was any more references! I am going to buy the game today, and I can't wait to play it!

Thank you for making this 100%-Québécois game, made by Quebecers, about Quebecers, for everyone :)

Yep! There's actually a lot more actual legends in the game (about 6 or 7). Just for instance, there are references to a two-handed saw belonging to the St-Crapaud family; and to the Hère (or the "bête à grand'queue") first written by Honoré Beaugrand. There's also a cursed priest, also based on actual legends, who might require your help. Enjoy the game!
