Game is getting frustrating.
I got as far as Chapter XI (Dec15) and find the mission goofy. You have a Wave 1 Will o the wisp in the SW Corner taking the same path as the Wave 3 Maikans so that you cannot set a firewall to delay the maikins or break them up so you end up having to battle 2 Maikan warriors and 1 Maikan Shaman all at the same time.

It takes so long to set up a mission you don't really feel like experimenting with different set ups. I'm starting to loose interest in this game.

Wave 3 has 3 Maikans in the south west, why not just put a spike trap down, and shout on top of it, before running north to fight the 2 Grand Werewolves?

Spike trap = Instadead

I thought that there were actually 2 + 1. Do they pack together because I thought you needed a minimum of three animals to trigger a spike trap? Thanks for the info, I'll go back and give it another try.

2+1=3. When you shout to lure enemies to a spot, they look around for a little bit. More then enough time to pack them all on top of the trap.

Thanks for the tip. I wouldn't have thought about the shouting thing. So wait till one or two of them get near the trap and then shout then wait till the other one catches up to the trap and then shoot the trap?

They all spawn relatively close to each other, just make sure all 3 are on the map in range of your shout, and then just run like hell when the symbol is on the floor.

Thanks again. So they hang around the mark where you last shouted? So I should shout on the Maikin side of the spike trap, so they gather there and then try to cross the spike trap together? Sounds like a plan, I'm off to give it a shot.

Shout on the trap itself so you know they will stand on it for sure.

I tried both to no avail. I'll give it another couple of tries, probably not tonight, time to move on to another game. It's just that you have to run around all over the place to get to the point where wave 3 activates and then if it fails then you have to do all that running around again. There is lots of neat stuff about this game that I like but restarting from scratch over and over is a bit of a fun killer. It would be nice if you could just restart at wave you failed at.

Have you ever tried restarting from twilight? It's not from scratch, keeps all the traps you placed for that specific night.

There's at least three mechanics to lure enemies to a specific spot (shouting, wind, and shooting a noisy rifle).

Like the tutorial shows you, if you alert an enemy from afar, a circle will appear on the ground under you (to indicate your last known location, from the monsters' point of view). That's where the enemies are running to. You can just stand directly on a trap, alert the monsters and leave to engage other threats. As long as they don't see, hear or smell you again (which would change your last known location), they'll go to the trap and activate it.

Be careful, it might not work if some monsters are much closer or faster than others. Once they get to the cicle on the ground, they stay there a bit, but eventually leave. Try to time it so they'll all arrive to the trap at roughly the same time.

I love luring monsters. Some nights with lots of strong monsters, I just ran around making noise and turning the wind so I'd end up with everything chasing me. Then I can kill everything with just a single powder barrel.

Yes I have and that does help but what I was referring to was having to do waves 1 and waves 2 all over again. I left a suggestion to be able to restart at a specific wave. Hopefully I'll finally get this chapter completed. There are so many fun elements to the game I'd hate to give up playing it just because I'm unable to complete a particular wave.

That sounds like a great idea. I definately got to work on the "luring" thingy. Thanks for the ideas.
