English or French?
Which language was the game first intended to be in? I know both, but I prefer using the words and speech the developers originally envisioned, and not a translation.

the language was first in french since they are a Quebec organization. And the tales of werewolf were a french canadian tale. That's it.
(Also, the story take place in the bas-canada (the french part of Canada in the 1800)

Are you sure of this? Because it's quite possible they initially made the game in English to appeal to a wider audience.

well technically, the game was based on the french canadian mythology. Also, the game was written with the help of Bryan Perro, a great french writter. Tehy just after that make a english version of the game because the game would not got as many good review as now if he was only in french

Thanks, French it is.

Honestly, I wish it was in French, that way you wouldnt have to suffer the terribly non-canadian voice acting.

you can change the language in the parameter before lauching the game

Yeah but that changes everything into French.

It would be nice to have all the text in English with the dialog in French.

Note that it's not french from France, not at all. It is the Quebec french and might be difficult to understand if you are not familiar with our part of the world. Personnally, I usually play games in english only and always ignore translations, so it's refreshing and fun to hear my native language and accent in a game for a change.

Same here, I did the game in French for a change, just because the voice over in Québecois was just awesome.
Hybrid English text / French VA would be a great addition indeed imo, because you would already need a strong basis in French to truly appreciate it without the text to help you out.

It's like playing Metro in Russian.

Sure, you can't understand the non-mainline conversations because there's no subtitles for them because I don't know? but the sense of ambiance can be really effective.

Yep, being able to play it in Québecois with English subtitles would be great. Much more immersive.

Having first played it in Russian, I once tried to play Cryostasis again in English. That didn't last very long.

You know, french geeks understands very easily Québecois 'cause they are part of the same gamer's community: when they use skype or team speak, they speak longtime together! So this game is easy to play for a french guy (as me).
