I loved this game, and at times I would just spend hours designing the perfect ship of my dreams, giving each module a story and a purpose. I would launch out in to space and sail in its vastness engaging in combat with the surrounding AI.. and this is where the fun really ends. I first bought this game when it released into Early Access. It was my last 20 bucks, and I sat there clenching my virtual steam funds.. finally giving in. Kinetic Void looked like a very good game, the updates were coming fast, people were hyped showing each other their creations and the lore behind them. Even a member of the Yogscast posted a video depicting the gamer designing and testing out his ship in his created system.
I played almost constantly, seeing what I could make next, and admiring other peoples' hard and dedicated work as well. But then, suddenly the game is "released". I was quite shocked, I knew this couldn't be true.. the game was a broken mess, did they finally refine the faction and trading system? It seems they really haven't. I was devastated, waiting two years in anticipation for all of these features. I scanned the forums, witnessing developers deleting threads and banning customers asking sincere questions. It saddens me, and I really thought this game was going to be a success, remembering the hype and positive feedback of the game in its Early Access release. Hopefully other developers won't follow in their footsteps, but unfortunately it happens frequent enough. Cheers.
