Just a few suggestions
Firing and shield modes.
Shields could have a strong but slow to recharge mode and a weak but quick to recharge mode. Weapons could have a quick but low damage mode and a slow fire but large damage mode. This could add more challenge by having to switch firing/shield modes depending on your enemy type.

Bounty events.
While flying around there could be a random event of being attacked by, or recive a hail by someone being attacked by a pirate with a bounty, if you beat him you can collect his bounty.

Space meat.
People in space need to eat, as a source of income you could hunt space animals and sell their meat, there could also be rare animals that are worth more but classed as protected species which could add poachers to the game.

Repair bots.
Ships could carry a limited number of little spider shaped robots that can repair the hull, howver if they're out while in battle or warp they can get blown off the ship.

Haha, Just a joke on the edge, but you have some really ingenious thoughts.

I like your suggestion about the firing and shield modes zetsub0tim, most of all the part with the different firing modes for guns. I also would enjoy it if there would be guns with long and short range. Like some sort of artillery guns for the long range with a longer reload time and slower rotation speed, but great destructive force. And the guns with a shorter range could have less damage and less precision, but a higher rate of fire.

As well your idea with the Bounty events and the random attacks and stuff. Nice idea.

Your thoughts about the "Space Meat" or nutriment are also very interesting, but what do you mean with "hunt space animals"? Do you mean to hunt animals on planets (Like some sort of a mini-game or whatever), because I can imagine nothing underneath. Hope you understand me and my reasons.


To your last suggestion with the repair bots: There is already something like this in another game. I don't know if you are acquainted with the game "Freelancer", but they had also Repair Bots to repair the hull if damaged. I think that would be really great if it were possible, to add this to Kinetic Void. Maybe it would work like this:

The smaller the ship is the faster it get repaired. So if you have a giant Dreadnought (Like me :D) it would take longer, (Maybe the more mass the longer it takes) I think that would make it fair and would add a balance to it. In my opinion it would be too powerful if the larger and bulkier ships were as fast as fighters in repairing. It's just a thought, but maybe unnecessary or a good one.


However, I hope my comment makes you and the developer think about it and probably they can even be improved.

I am a huge fan of freelancer :P My space meat suggestion was mainly a joke because I'm also a huge invader zim fan and wanted to type space meat, but on the serious note I'm imagining giant space inhabiting creatures that feed off the energy of stars or nebulae that you can capture using some sort of tractor beam ;). Shooting them however would turn them into a cloud of worthless chunks.

I mentioned space creature in another thread and they said they have no plans at this time. I'd like to see some kind of space creatures though. A rare but very dangerous encounter. The creature could also be hiding in a large asteriod (like in Star Wars) or feeding/hiding in a derelict ship.

The firing/shield mode could be taken a step further if we are able to manage our power supply. For example, if our shields are low we could put more power into shields, but then weapons or speed would lose power.

So we could manage power between the three: shields, weapons, speed.
More power in speed = faster max speed.
More power in weapons = longer range, higher damage weapons.
More power in shields = faster shield regen rate.

Repair bots is another good idea. To simplify things maybe we could have repair drones?

Ah, I havnt read much of the forums so i didnt see your post, being able to manage the power supply is a really good idea, drones make more sense too.

Yeah I think shifting power to different parts of the ships will be fun.
And I really enjoy the thought of shooting monsters into clouds of worthless chunks!

Another idea, mines you can place that disrupt warp drive, if we end up getting to be able to build our own space stations in multiplayer, we could protect them by placing these mines in strategic positions to stop people from warping directly to our station.

I hope they add some orbital bombardment scenarios. Maybe we could build missle bases and force shields on our planets to help protect ourselves from other players bombing our planets.
