[Linux] *D12* - Rightclick-Menu not working

I have some problems with the building of ships.

1. If I placed some modules and want to delete parts (right-click-menu; after placing), I can't
2. Some parts I could only place if they have distance (air) between them and other modules (e.g. weapon-mount "Hardpoint 04" and hull "Hull 5V6")
3. The game says I have to use a "Kinetic Field Generator", but I dont have any at my inventory or the merchant.

Game-Mode: Career
OS: Ubuntu 12.04 (Kernel 3.8.0-38)
CPU: i7-3820
Graphics: 2* nvidea 8800GTX (driver-package: nvidea-304)

If you need more infos, just ask ;-)

[Linux] Right Click Menu inaccessible

maybe I make something wrong but when I select a hull module and click on the subsystem context menu nothig happend. Same in both game modes.

I started with a new galaxy, set the default keys, I even tryed to removed the folder with the ships and let steam create it new.

Or is there no hull subsystem. I try to add a "kinetic void" subsystem, otherwithe I can't launch my ship.

BTW, I'm using the linux version.

Dax - Can you by chance post up a sceen shot for me? Do other modules have subsystems in them?
Dax Tailor May 13 @ 8:18am
I started a new test, new galaxy (not creative mode) and started build a very simple ship. A C&C a hull and an engine.
All modules have subsystems but the hull. When I hit the "Launch" button a red message box appears with the text "Ship is missing a Kinetic Field Generator Subsystem". (Sorry, just saw that I used the wrong subsystem name in my 1st post.)

Because I can't find a kinetic field generator I thought it might be a part which belongs to a hull. Maybe I make some other mistakes (thats the first time I try to build a ship, but I watched some tutorials.)

I managed to make some screen shots but there are about 500k each so I reduced the size but where should I put the files (and how)? May 13 @ 8:48am
Upload it as a screenshot from your profile (click Screnshots, and there should be a button in the upper right somewhere that says add new/upload screenshots.

I've uploaded 3 screenshots into the steam cloud and set them as public, hope you can find them and it will help (these are the 500k files).

If there is anything else I should test, even if its not releated to this topic, let me know.

Thanks. May 13 @ 11:24am
Ok, first, can you right click on Kinetic Void in your lirary, go to properties, local files and verify file integrity. Then see if the problem persists. (Also, what is your computer's operating system? Mac or Windows, 32 or 64 bit? Or linux?

If that doesn't work, try starting a new galaxy.

Verifycation was ok, all tests I did was with a new galaxy.

OS:Linux 64Bit (Mint 16)

One other thing I just realized, I can't load a ship. Pressing the load icon in the shipyard does nothing. I can load the galaxy though. (I build my 3 module ship, saved it under an other name and restated the game.)

If there is nothing against it, I will do a fresh installation and see if this will fix the problem.

(I still think I'm doing something wrong.)

BTH, thanks for the quick response I realy appreciate that.

So, i made a complete reinstall. The problem is still there.

I bought a size 2 hull and installed it but the subsystem menu is still not showing up.

Some miner other issue I found. In the subsystem window for the engine, the booster filter is inverse. It must be off to show the booster, May 13 @ 2:07pm
I'm guessing its a Linux problem then, and the devs are going to have to troubleshoot with you further from here. One final thing to try, go to the settings (in game) and for controls, default them. See if that wonkyfix does anything,.

I'm not sure about 1 and 2, but for #3, are you in Career mode or Creative? The KFG is a subsystem that's in the Hull
Stechi May 15 @ 2:58pm
The same problems occures on creative mode,
also sometimes the angles are odd,

Additional bugs:
4. If i try to place 2 modules exactly on the same spot, the angles differs 1 or 2 degree.
5. Mirroring doesn't work. The modules get placed everywhere, but not there where they should be placed.

@kaypix Like specified under specs, in career-mode, but in creative I can't see them in the inventory either.

6. Can't get in the subsystems for hull.

I don't experience any of your placement problems but I also can't delete from the rightclick menu and can't add subsytems to hullparts. I can however add subsystems to all other parts like engines and whatever
Belug May 16 @ 4:10am
I do have the same problems in D12 with Ubuntu 14.04

- Unable to delete pieces
- Unable to open hull subsystems
- Some turrets had space between hull and the turret

All other parts subsystems are working properly.

pippo - are you running linux as well?

pippo & Belug -
We are trying to track down what the common denominator for what this issue is. Make sure that you are not in one of these windows when you are trying to change subsystems or edit parts as they will lock you out.
Are you both playing in creative or non-creative mode?
