Multi-Targetting?
Just curious if there are any plans for supporting multiple targets, perhaps with some sort of AI weapons suite? If I build a capital ship and I have gun racks along the port and starboard, I would hope that in a larger battle they could each fire independantly at different targets.

You should be able to target multiple ships using different groups right now.

Short(ish) tutorial:

Say you're like me, and group all your weapons by the side of the ship they're on.
So they're grouped like this:

Front-fixed: 1, Front-Turret: 3, Rear: 4, Port: 5, Starboard: 6, Underside: 7.

You warp into a group of 3 hostiles, and target them successively by clicking the radar icon and then hitting 'C' thus targeting all the enemies, and assigning each one a number value, "1," "2," and "3."

By the time you're in range, 1 and 3 are on your port side, and 2 has moved around to your fore-starboard. you then can select target 1 by hitting F1, and then hitting 5 to have the port weapons group start firing on it. After that, you can hit F2 to to select target 2 and then hit 3 and 6 to have the front and starboard group firing at 2.

As far as I know, you can't fire at multiple targets with one group though, so unless target 3 is in range of another group, such as the underside, to fire at it, you would have to switch from firing at 1 and use the port group to fire at 3 by hitting F3 and hitting 5.

You can untarget by selecting the target via the F key and then hitting "Shift+C" I think, never tried it though. Dunno if it cancels hostile though.

That does work indeed. However, it does not reset the hostile status.

It dosent reset because the enemy detects that you have locked onto them, this is, it itself a hostile action, be carefull who you target :D
