I'm very interested
I like the looks of this game as well as the freedom it allows, but there are some things in space games the make it an instant buy for me. so i must know can u control a fleet, if so how large, is there a module that allows you to launch small attack fighters, can u give commands to your ships, and what in the world do u do if your engines are destroyed?

Fleet: No, Fighters: Yes, Commands: No, since no Fleet, Engines: Having a good time floating through space. For now you can just reset to shipyard, I don't know if the devs plan a sort of distress call function.

the no fleet thing is a bit of a let down but i guess making a massive carrier will have to do.

seems this is very early so a fleet seems like it would be definite in future. I get ganged up on by a dozen ships would be nice to have backup when going in to help, even to land on my carrier to get a new fighter when that guy that asks for help they have in game now. I made a giant ship so I just have a silly platform out there they cant kill. the weapons seem to take forever to kill not sure if the types are the reason. anyway seems nice potentinal kerbal is much further along but less fantasy.

Well, fleet control is not planned for this game, the devs have repededly said that the focus of this game is on the player and their ship(s). However, I believe there will be allied factions for mission help though, and possibly faction Ops where you are part of a fleet taking, blockading, defending, etc. a target, though I'm not 100% sure of that last bit.

Yeah but your choice could be to hire mercs or something permanently and whats to stop you from making your own empire in someway? From there you could recruit. And if you rase enough money from mining whats to stop you from hiring poor people stuck on a planet looking for a better life? Yes this is all theoretical but lets think mount and blade with a better start

all of these ideas are cool, sucks to be ganged up on. i understand wanting the player to experience the solo life in space but it gets lonely in that vast open space

Hey, it sounds cool to me, I'm just repeating what the Developers have said. And I imagine the loneliness will be somewhat subsided when Trade and usermodes get implemented, and the faction system get more developed, right now it's sorta just a development-creator mode.

Yeah my hope is that a dev will see it and totally change his mind about the current opinion of it :P

You won't have your Empire. You won't be able to hire merc or anything. Only crew. The Devs don't want you to be able to control more than one ship, except if you have a carrier.
