Ship resources
Am I the only one who thinks balancing ship resources is very hard? For example, a thruster needs 7 crew, and the 7 crew need at least 7 entertainment, nutrition, and 'medical'. Well, then you need to add a lot of weight to the ship so you can put in the medbays, etc. Then you probably want more thrust. Which requires more power and crew, which requires more crew, and so on.
It's also very hard to make efficient fighters that can move fast because you need crew for the best thrusters...
I'm not complaining, but I wanted to know if theres some sort of alternative other than the no-crew thrusters, sensors, power cores, and all that.

For fighters use thrusters and engines that are only rank 1. anything above rank 1 needs crew. you can make a fighter that can travel extremely fast without a crew.
