Designs using real-life theoretical physics
Check out the Alcubierre warp drive and how a space ship using it would look. I would like for the game to include several different classes of warp technology, each with its own speed limitations, energy use, and visualization.
For example, if you wanted a ship that used the Alcubierre metric, it would have a ring around the ship that connects to the main hull. You could then fit it with a Millis diametric drive or differential sail for generating thrust, all of which have their own specs.
On a slightly different topic, it would also be pretty cool if there are wormholes that must be found to travel between sectors and/or galaxies.

this does soud intresting, however, i think they should keep some fom of microwarp simply for gameplay and design. (i dont want to have to put a ring around evry ship i make

Sure. I just think that it would be cool if the ships with the ring/football design are more efficient/faster than the ones with the microwarp drive.

I like the wormhole theory you added there it would be nice, and to have diferent warp technologies, but its very early for that i believe
