Kinetic Void... you better start adding new content, and quickly!
'X Rebirth' is the new dude on the block... and he's got some powerful guns.

I fear for Kinetic Void's following, as it will soon disappear if nothing happens within the next couple of months.

'X Rebirth' (XR) brings trade, space station building, dynamic space combat (large scale, Star Wars sized battles) and fleet construction.... and possibly MORE

I'm unsure if XR will have the great shipbuilding KV has to offer, however visually and gameplay-wise, XR has got the edge.

We will be fine. I am not worried in the least. ther eis always room for more games of the same genre, I myself am looking forward to playing Rebirth.

There are times in the past where new advanced, "better" games have come out that I've said/thought the same thing, "This isn't going to survive", but much to my surprise, they do. There will always be unique aspects about a game that people will be attached to.

I was excited about rebirth when I saw it too, drooling on the edge of my seat, but I really doubt it's going to cause me to turn away from KV.

By the time I get bored of XR, KV will probably have a few exciting new updates to pull me back to it. Hell. Back when I was getting bored of Minecraft, Terraria was just released. When I got bored of Terraria I went back to minecraft, then Terraria again until I had enough of sandbox-blockbuilder-whatever games. But yeah, I see where you're coming from.

X-Rebirth? According to all X-series they have maximum speed in space and it is very small (~300 m/s is a very small speed for space)!
I've already preordered XR. But it will be totally spacearcade with all its "Space Highways", sectors and such (X is more submarine simulator with fully transparent water). And KV is more spacesim with figuratively unlimited speed, solar systems instead of sectors, some physics, etc.
I think both are very good games, but very different.

those who doesn't have a 64-bit windows, or, those how can't stand the idea of being unable to fly anything other than your starting-ship, should avoid X: Rebirth like the plauge

Kinetic Void could perhaps be a good alternative for those people

I feel so much at home with smart, non-fanboy people here. X:R will be a terrific... disaster. One ship? For real? It's like Rockstar came and said, "hey, GTA games have advanced so much since the beginning, let's take all the cool features we developed over the years out! Let's begin with only one driveable car, yes that will do!" But I digress. My point being, the throne for space sims is still up for grabs, good luck with KV, LumberingTroll.
SoarerFullHD 29 aug 2013 om 8:41nm
Yeah the only downside for me with XR is the one ship.......? with the prequals having you maneuvre massive capital ships and commanding massive fleets, to flying a little crappy cargo thingy that commands big ships remotely.......... wtf is this? Although they did capture me with the massive scale space stations and citadels, however i do believe out of all those objects, only a few will be explorable on the inside XD

I sincerely hope KV becomes an awesome game series, or just the one project that out lasts and out does EVE and others alike :)

Once we get trade and mining (... and dare i say fleet management XD although not listed in the features to be) and all the spacey goodness, KV will be unstoppable

Im not happy about the single ship in XR either, but I will enjoy the game for sure. I have loved the X series games since X2. All space games have a place in my collection, even not so good ones (Darkstar One, anyone?)

This game looks really good I think I will be buying it now = ) I've been looking for a game with this level of customization.

I am one of the earliest kickstarter backers of Star Citizen. I too am looking forward to it. Kinetic Void though is very interesting and Star Citizen won't have the level of customization this game has.
