game Ideas
German Guy sorry for the bad english ;) hope you are merciful

things that need to improve

+ make the Ship speeding up faster
+ Add some HUD with you can see Things like Hull/Shield/Radar and Key Shortcuts, Know what i mean?
+ makes the camera controls in the dock easier
+ a Interface in the Map with Jump Options and Maker where you are.

Ideas ^^

+ Steam Workshop support for more and Custom Hull´s and Weapons
+ Intrusion Weapon System (IWS)
+ And Anti-Intrusion System (AIS)
+ an Ego perspective for the Weapons, aim is impossible with this perspective
+ Optional-> windows were the Light go on and off like there are Human inside an make the Light off for sleep

I will edit when I get new Idea´s

battle mode would be AWESOME and a controls guide i cant figure out how to do anything besides what i know right now

Okay. I will work that list down, as far as I am able to.

1) That's actually your task. If you feel like your ship is too slow, use more engies. Tonnes of engines.

2) Since this is an alpha, I am pretty sure an HUD is at least being thought of. Don't hope for a too soon release of it however. Devs are busy getting gameplay into the game right now.

3) I can't say anything to this. In my experience they are already pretty intuitive to use.

4) Since you technically can jump everywhere (visit ALL the sectors!) there'd be no need for jump options. A marker indicating your position would indeed be cool. Can't give any confirmed information, but I am pretty sure it's already being thought of.

5) - Nothing to add here :p

6) & 7) Lol, call me a noob, I have no idea what that is.

8) Cockpit-view has been asked for multiple times now. I also think it'd be cool, but I can't recall any dev statement for it.

9) Such graphical gimmicks will come when the game is near release. As of now gameplay has a way higher priority.

7) Will definitely come, the ballistic type weapons were already announced, along with laser types and beam types.

IIRC the devs said they will (sometime in the far future) provide their node placement kit, which would allow for custom hulls indeed. Didn't thought of that.

Steam workshop , definately, the faster the better, in that way you can focus on main story and programming of all the quests- And fans will make ships and parts for em.
Heres what i want, loot drops,.White, green blue purple gold and so on, turrets that are green have +1 stat to them, blue have +2 stats and so on. you get the point, loot i can strap on to my ship making it better and better. im gonna try the game a bit more now, havent gottent far enuff to actually kill anything yet. i love the loot in star trek online . so why not borrow from them?

1 The Universe is ♥♥♥♥ing big in this game. That's intended. You're not supposed to be able to go fast with your Kinetic Field.

2. HUD isn't fully done. Want and you'll see.

3. There will be a command to : Go to, which will help for the docking. As for camera controls, you're pretty much allowed to do anything.

4. Like I said the HUD is not fully done. But later on you will be able to click and the map and do : Jump to.

5. Already coming. Hopefully it should be somewhere in the end of the month. I haven't asked LT about the latest ETA but that was the goal. You will be able to share ship for the first part. I know later on you will be able to create your own modules.

6 If I remember that means boarding. You will be (If I remember correctly) to board ship with a few of your crew. However if you run too short on crew some function of your ship might stop working. Crew will work as defenders as well.

7. Look at 6.

8 Camera and HUD, aren't completely done and this is something that is planned.

9. Don't forget, the only place where they sleep is the habitation subsystem. So, following your logic, only habitation modules should have their light turned off at some times. Why? Because pretty much any other room is important to the ship and Most ships don't close their lights except when there is an electricity problem. However, this would need to be implemented on a later version of the game.

This ain't a MMO. YOu don't have Epic loot. There will be subsystem that will be better and the stat system is way more complicated than just a +.

No ship is better than another one. They just have a role and purpose as well as flaws. Meaning a fighter could kill a dreadnought given enough time, while the dreadnought could one shot the small ship, if it aim carefully.

Star Trek is a game, and borrowing stuff could lead to pursuit because of the copyright problem.

umm come on , loot systems from games arent exactly patented as they all derive from dungeons and dragons. and star trek online is flawed fundamentally as a adventure game because you can not really explore, you can go do patrols of systems, but thats it. all has to be qued for , like 5 man battles, im hoping this game, as its not online , will be more of a adventure game, like new wegas- different factions, with different quests , wich leads to stuff changing. AND heres a poem about loot:

As has been mentioned by Dakili: There will be no loot. This game isn't based on simple "Accelartion +2" mechanics. We should probably stop discussing about that, since it has already been decided.

i honestly would love a interior first person kind of area on your ship and stations i think it would be cool to have a option to just walk around inside your ship and do stuff type up a captins log for one or have some r and r and have it have modual and location based rooms so lets say you have a compartment filled with weapons systems then it would have little extra space you know

I've got some ideas too but i don't weant to make another thread for this, so there it goes:
1. Idea - Group of patrolling ships on the borders or cargo ships you can trade things with. Also including diplomatic ships to offer peace and alliance. What do you think about this idea?

2. Idea - Internal 3D C&C and hull views* (optional). Well, I really like internal view in ships and I really miss it in Kinetic Void but let's hope that there will be mods for this :)

3. Better weapon system - Now every gun has the same ROF (Rate of fire) well I've got and idea - Let's say that standard fixed gun should have the current ROF And double/triple/quad turrets would multiply the current ROF. I think it's pretty clear but just in case - 1 fixed gun would have current ROF, and Triple gun turret would multiply the ROF 3 times. And I'd add more damage to the cannons but reduce the ROF because most of the cannons are using higher caliber so let's say reducing the ROF of cannons to 0.75 and adding the damage to 1.25-1.5?

I don't think that these are bad ideas, and I hope that something like these will be added in the game. But let's just wait for now. Even for early alpha this game is awesome ^^
